From the youth football management, they alerted Xavi and his staff that Cubarsí was leaving for ManCity. Which he had it practically done. When he was 16-year-old.
Their plan was to signed him for Girona, stay there for two seasons, and then land in Manchester at 18.

Barça got down to work. Xavi knew, through former coach Joan Vilà, now Cubarsí ‘s coach , that the player was La Masia’s greatest defensive jewel.

It was absurd for to lose a diamond like this, repeating the history of Piqué’s day, then with ManUtd.

Òscar Hernandez(assistant coach) spoke with Cubarsí he found out that the player did not see a plan for him, which City did have-showed his will to succeed at Barça above all.

Barça didn’t promised him anything, but they did promise him that he could do the pre-season with the first team and that the club would move to give him a good first contract as a professional. And so it was done, signing on July 8.

As Mourinho say’s, foot ball heritage!

  3. I’m been as impressed by Cubarsi’s first games as i was when Lamine had his first few showings last season. I know that’s a huge comparison.
