Hi not sure if this is the way to ask for help but I have a question. This radiator will not turn off if I set it on 0 I asked help from my neighbors but still dont understand how it works.

This radiator is living its own life. If I set it to 0 it still keeps the same heat for multiple hours. It feels like its not turning off at all. The neighbors told me something about that it will keep its heath in the night but this seems like its still running. Its consuming a lot of energy and I just want it off. I dont know about the electrical groups in the house and turning a whole room off from electricity is not really an option.

Does someone know how these heaters work? And how to turn them completely off?

  1. This is called a Nachtspeicherheizung, it essentially uses electricity to heat up a big block of concrete at night (when electricity is supposedly cheaper) and can release it during the day. It also means that you have a hot block of concrete in the mean time. If you switch it off now, it will turn cool some time tomorrow.
