  1. There’s no point in trying to fact check Putin. As the quote goes…

    > Never wrestle with a pig because you’ll both get dirty and the pig likes it

  2. Putin’s rampage is intensifying. It’s incurable.

  3. For those looking for the facts to debunk that sort of claims, check “Gardariki, Ukraine” ebook.

  4. Looking at how Putin play a bit surprised by some questions I think that interview had a director like a movie. Probably they filmed a few times some parts to be sure it’s going to look exactly as it should. Oscar is waiting.

  5. > the Rus was made up of “a bunch of bandits, who burned their own capital repeatedly”

Did they do it on January 6th?

  6. >”This mythology was crystallised in Moscow to justify their imperial hold over Ukraine.”

    destroyed!

  7. Who’s brave enough to post this in r/tucker_carlson ?

  8. Imagine robber coming to your house. He rings the bell and you open the door. He kindly asks you to allow him to rob your house which you, naturally, refuse to do. Next day he comes to your house again, throws a bomb and starts shooting at it. And then he says *”you made me do it by not letting me rob your house!”.*

This is theory Putin goes by. In his words, *Ukraine didn’t hand us Crimea and Donbas when we wanted it, so I had the right to start the war.*

  9. One of the funny one, when he talks about Zelensky’s father who fought Nazis during WWII and now he’s son is “nazi” leader. Zelensky’s father was born in 1947.

  10. So Rurik was a viking and was invited to rule Rus?

That means that Russia belongs to Sweden by Putins own logic.

  11. Seems like a good part of the media is falling for putin’s trap again and again and again. There is no point in trying to fact check this fckn lying prick. All it does is spreading propaganda to be picked up by morons.

  12. This bitch is late on his tribute payment to the Golden Horde. Stupid Muscovite

  13. Very insightful interview. Nothing new though, already new the USA and EU are a bunch of lying bastards

  14. Putin lives in a make-believe world…sort of like Trump and his followers.

  15. I’m sorry but this interview is being blown out of proportion the same way the letter of osama bin laden to the USA was on tik tok et al recently. This is exactly what putin wanted and he got it. Just like Osama with his letter. It’s just sad because many people currently cannot differentiate between fact and fiction and are not interested in truth, just convenience.

  16. I’m afraid many Americans will fall for his lies. They are not really bright nation.

  17. There is nothing that could possibly have happened in the year 862 that would justify Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. The statute of limitations has expired. It’s time to let go of old and misremembered grievances and focus on trying not to murder hundreds of thousands of people moving forward.

  18. So it’s as bad (or worse) as could be expected? Thus still best to protect my brain by refraining myself from watching that interview.

  19. Aside from rewriting history, even if there would be a claim to Ukraine you do NOT go on an aggressive war to ‘fix your grievances’. Oh the nerve. Hoping that this will backfire for Pootin.

  20. Good article. Professional historians point out concrete errors in Putin’s logic.

I disagree that there is no need to invest effort into debunking falsehoods. A person who might be unfamiliar with the discussed topics might listen to someone like Putin and form a factually wrong opinion. On the contrary, it is imperative to provide commentary such as the one in the article. It would be perfect if the commentary went into even more detail.

  21. Can’t wait for the UK to invade France since the throne should belong to us
