My friend gave me this honey and i just wanna know if this genuine carniolan honey, ive heard many great tales and stories about the majestic carniolan bee and its delicious honey, so before i taste it i wana make sure that i got the real thing!

  1. This is not slovenian honey from carniolian bee. On packaging it says: A mixture of honey from EU countries. I recommend that you buy honey from a local beekeeper.

  2. Poreklo: mešanica medu iz EU.
    That means it’s a mixture if honeys from EU countries. If it would be purely Slovene it would probably say so. So probably not the real thing.

  3. Quality honey is packaged in glass jars and is oftentimes solid.

  4. Sorry, definitely not. Idk where you’re from, but genuine Slovenian products can be bought in smaller ethnic stores. At least in the US. 

  5. You only get good honey from “a guy” in an unmarked jar for which you pay in cash or by bartering other items.

  6. Sadly not. Medex is infamous for selling non-Slovenian honey. As others said, it’s best to buy local honey directly from beekeepers.

  9. I’m not even sure Medex markets any product made from Slovenian honey… some honeys from Medex are even from outside the EU and I wouldn’t be surprised if they had sugar honey supplements in them. Haven’t bought anything from Medex in ages…

  10. That’s a factory honey, avoid it. As others said it, it’s of very broad origin (EU), that does not tell you much.

  11. it’s decent but it aint slovenian.. Real honey should be sourced from local bee keepers.. they should not be that hard to find.. they are sold in local markets. and you are also supporting local small farmers and not hellping a rich company.
