‘The Conservative Party Disaster’ series of newsletters will document every week until the next election the damage done by the party in government since 2010 – and this is as much Scotland’s story as anyone’s.

The first four newsletters are now available:

1. [Introduction](https://open.substack.com/pub/seeingthingsastheyare/p/introduction?r=37r107&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web)

2. [The Four Adjectives](https://open.substack.com/pub/seeingthingsastheyare/p/2-the-four-adjectives?r=37r107&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web)

3. [Before 2010](https://open.substack.com/pub/seeingthingsastheyare/p/before-2010?r=37r107&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web)

4. [The Economy](https://open.substack.com/pub/seeingthingsastheyare/p/the-economy?r=37r107&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web)

As explained in the introduction newsletter above, they will not include the insults, inflammatory language, jargon, jokes or absurdist imagery found in so much of the political coverage in Britain today and will not use words like ‘evil’, ‘scum’, ‘criminal’ or even ‘Tory’. Its tone will be calm and not outraged or exaggerated. It will engage throughout with the defences of the Conservative party.

Here’s hoping members of r/Scotland will appreciate.

  1. Yes, don’t call them Tories, easy to remember acronym:

    Conservative and Unionist, Not Tories

    Simples 😉

  2. This will upset the gammonati, they don’t like it when the plebs actually remember any of the many, many Tory scandals, acts of corruption, or bad decisions.

They’d much rather you pay attention to whatever distraction they could get their media pals to cook up this week.

  3. Can you, If space on the internet permits, have a list of Tory u turns over the last 14 years.

Bonus points for O turns where they proposed something, cancelled it and were forced to reintroduced it

And if you could rank the polices by how long they lasted (some just hours if I recall) that would be amazing!
