I see Switzerland as one of the most clean countries I’ve saw ever. However, I think this is a bit too much. As cited from the news paper:
”
* Because of a piece of cardboard that he disposed of in a waste at a tram stop, he received mail from the police.
* He faces a fine of 320 Swiss francs.”
”

Good
Recycle ppl
Switzerland makes recycling so easy. This is just laziness
What triggers me the most is when people trow away their finished cigarettes onto the street when there‘s a can 3 m away.
Expat? A bloddy immigrant,
And btw the story is a bit different. The fine is because Will C. put out his carboard bundle two days before the collection date.

You can explain to people why recycling is important, it will never work until you hit them in the wallet to make them understand other people are not your fucking maid who are supposed to clean your mess. Imo that person should have been charged more or be put into cleaning a river or something like that.
That’s a well-deserved fine.
You can check our Siedlings-Container in which only Zürisack are allowed. I’d say, they make about 20% of the bags in there 🙈.
And I mean repeatedly. I feel like that system is broken.
From the wording in the article, it’s not even clear if he will get the fine. It only says he might get one, if the court sees it fit. The city also made clear that they don’t go rummaging through trash bins, it was caught at the recycling plant. He started a shitstorm before even waiting for the response of the court.
The fine is only 120 CHF
“Entscheidet der Richter gegen Will C., muss er 320 Franken blechen, wie die Stadtpolizei vorrechnet: 120 Franken Busse, 150 Franken Schreibgebühren und 50 Franken Umtriebsentschädigung.”
I always find it funny how all the fees are more expensive than the fine itself
Recycling is a well known scam!

When it comes to littering and illegal trash disposal fines can’t be high enough. I live in an apartment block with ~50% expats and there’s trash laying around all the time. People just throw their cardboards to the collection site anytime of the week and the wind blows it everywhere. Also there’s plenty of plastic in the organic waste containers all the time. I hate my neighbors for this.
Clean? Switzerland is only clean if you can’t see cigarette butts.
Bravo!
Bring Oerlikon police to train my local police.
