Two years ago I bought a very nicely converted camper van that I love to use. In about two months, my car insurance will renew, and I would love to make things cheaper on my side.
Right now, the van is registered as a truck (LKW) and my car insurance is ADAC (https://www.adac.de/), because back then it was the only one I could find that would cover a truck. Thing is, it’s expensive. Right now I’m paying almost 1000e/year for the insurance. From what I’ve read, my car has everything needed to be registered as a wohnmobil, and if I do so it should make things much cheaper + I could chance the insurance type to get a much cheaper one.
So for anyone with more knowledge then I do – is this the best path for my situation? Change the registration type and then get a wohnmobil insurance? And if so, which insurances do you recommend?
