These things? Sure I’ve no interest myself but can’t see the harm.
Glad he’s finally getting his comeuppance.
He just lies to suit his agenda
Wait until you hear about the Bus Eireann network…
There are so many ghost buses. It’s very clear that some buses are not actually running so a bus might be scheduled to run every 10/15 minutes but there are long gaps where you don’t see a bus for 30 minutes.
Last December I waited 45 minutes for a bus that according to the timetable leaves from the start one every 10 minutes. It was a weekday at 3pm. You just can’t rely on it
This is like the ‘trolley dilemma’ for this sub lol. Inexplicably defend Eamon Ryan, or admit in this instance that Miriam O’ Callaghan is right and that Dublin Bus is shite.
Had this issue in cork before with Bus Eireann. I lived at the start of a route with no cross over routes within about a 45 minute walk.
4 buses in a row failed to show leaving me waiting 90 minutes. Contacted Bus Eireann and they told me that a number of drivers were sick so they cancelled every single one of their scheduled routes that day and tough tits I had to wait 90 minutes for a bus.
Tell me the last time she even stepped onto a bus?
It’s below her. Sick of rich people continuing to argue against public transport improvements in the city. Fuck off.
I use the 46a usually to get home from work and that doesn’t seem to happen much on that route from my experience anyway. I get a different route to get to work and mostly the first bus isn’t a ghost bus but from some reason isn’t live tracked and just appears on app as ‘scheduled’, you just kind of have to know when to be at bus stop to catch it. I personally don’t think the problem is as bad as some make out but also I don’t think there is honest stats on what the on-time rate, delay rate , cancelled busses etc available. Would be nice if that info was available and truly transparent
They should try and find the 151 Bus, supposed to be every 20mins. Try every 2 hours
As if she would have a clue. When’s the last time Miriam O’Callaghan was on Dublin fucking Bus?
“I often breeze past those poor people waiting at bus stops in my Range Rover and they never seem to get a bus”
impressed that she doesnt seem to know the difference between the words “to” and “through” like a lot of people losing their shit online
I find that some do go missing. Some speed through their route when late on a schedule, and some go slow and stop at every stop, regardless if people no one is to get on or off. I think it’s a delay tactic when they are ahead of schedule. But mostly I find the 90mins fare things great and I jump from one to another a lot. I get a bus close to me and jump off to a stop that has far more bus options
15 disappears a good bit on a Saturday night in my experience. Should be every 15 minutes. More like every 30/45 going into town from Clongriffin.
3 buses in a row didn’t show up for me a few weeks ago. I emailed Dublin Bus and they said it was due to an inavailability of drivers. But they were showing up as normal on the sign, so there definitely are lots of ghost buses.
I was waiting for a bus in UCD recently, after having first getting the S6 bus there which was late by 30 minutes. Stupid idea for the new S6 bus to come from such a distance (Tallaght to Blackrock) through rush hour traffic on routes without bus lanes.
The bus from UCD was on the display as due to arrive in 10 minutes. We waited for that. The bus arrived and pulled up at the other side of the car park where the buses can turn, it let the people off there, and then turned off the bus number and drove off. When the driver turned off the number the bus disappeared from the digital timetable above us. Next bus not for another 25 minutes!!! I got straight in a taxi and said I won’t use 2+ busses for a journey ever again. 1 bus max as even that is unreliable.
Venting as I was on the way to a party and the busses screwed me over for an hour of standing in the cold.
Need more drivers
I don’t usually listen to Miriam.but I’m with her here. The TFI app is a fucking joke and I have stood for an hour at my bustop watching these ghost buses disappear as they are supposed to arrive. The traffic in dublin is the same as it was when I used the good one Dublin bus app . At that time every bus arrived as it should, now there seems to be far less actual buses… so there is something up. I am an envionmental minded old socialist myself but the greens are so out of touch it is scary. Sick of all of them at this stage. They won’t deal with the cows and the data farms, which cause soooo much e.missions … but let’s fuck all commuters shit up and annoy the voters just before an election . Make buses free..charge a tenner an hour for on street parking if you want but just making an arbitrary decision to tick box is infantile. They can fuck right off.
He ever tried to use one. Clown
Swings and roundabouts. The odd time you might get a phantom bus. One that isn’t advertised on the board but pops up magically at the last second.
It is and you fucking know it, Eamon.
He’s spoofing here because if it’s faced up to just how bad public transport is it’ll kill an awful lot of his pet projects at killing car use and forcing people on to public transport.
If the public transport net is already breaking under the demand then his plans die if he admits that’s the case as it doesn’t take a genius to see it can’t handle further increases in demand if he manages to get his way.
One thing that really annoys me is all the ‘scheduled’ buses that don’t have GPS tracking. They are the ones that go missing the most.
Meanwhile Dublin Bus tell us that they have a surplus of buses but not enough drivers. So why are they driving the ones without GPS? Just seems like they do it intentionally to give plausible deniability and insist the bus did run
Have totally given up on bus schedules in Cork. Whenever I need to get a bus anywhere I just presume there will be at least one bus in the hour, and I’ll factor that into my travel time.
The 4:10 H2 from malahide to town on a Thursday is notorious for never showing up. I’ve been left standing at the stop for 45 mins waiting on the next one multiple times, along with rakes of students leaving school and looking to get home.
For once Miriam did her job and seemed generally flabbergasted at this cunts desire to penalize anyone who own a motorcar and not bother with giving them an alternative.
Anyone who actually uses the buses sees that this is a huge issue. Eamon is a fool for denying this.

Apart from her ghost bus claims, she was full of shite during that program, she really went down the rag red top tabloid route.
And the Indo, Reddit needs to automatically flag any link to them posted here as being most likely false.
I mean, it is full of ghost buses.
She is kinda right. Bus just disappearing.
