“Sometimes I hurt for (Lankford) because I know he’s working as hard as he can,” Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., told USA TODAY last week.
She said “there were stirrings” of concern before Trump weighed in, “so maybe he hit a vulnerable chord within the conference.” She argued that the proposal would codify some of Trump’s own policies, making it harder for Biden or other presidents to pull them.
“I think it would be a victory for Trump policies, but he’s obviously not buying what I’m selling, I guess,” she said last week. She ultimately voted against the proposal after getting “overwhelming feedback” from her constituents.
“Overwhelming feedback” from tRump more than likely. Spineless “Christians”.
McConnell’s fault ultimately but Lankford is responsible for not seeking help outside of McConnell when it became clears he was in over his head.
He can always vote with democrats, they won’t stop him.

They set Lankford off to do this task, he spent hours in meetings hammering out this deal with Democrats and others. Subsequently managed to ram one of the most strict immigration bills ever down a dem president’s throat. All they gave away was a little military aid to allies. I mean what a fucking deal, champagne anyone?! Lankford is a fucking rockstar for the Republicans right now holy shit! Oh Biden won’t really enforce it though… Oh yeah, who gives a fuck we’ll filibuster any kind of repeal of this and the next Republican president is gonna wield this shit hard.
