I am right in that this doesn’t have to be paid? I don’t even remember going into somewhere I wasn’t allowed.

  1. Do either of those photos even show your full plate?

Search smart parking and plenty of other posts

  2. I know over the water you now cannot ignore these private charges, they are enforceable in court. Not sure if the same applies here though. Pepipoo forum is the place to ask

  3. Paying them feeds the beast. Never pay or even dispute it as they’ll know you respond to threats and will exploit that.

  4. Did you park at Abbey centre for 20 mins? I honestly don’t see how they could charge you

  5. Someone else was driving your car that day, in rest of UK you would be obligated to tell the company who or accept the fine on their behalf, but in NI you’re not required to.

  6. Just ignore it. They need to prove you were driving for it to be enforceable. They won’t take it to court becuase they will lose if you say I was in X location at that time and I can’t remember who would have been driving at that time. They don’t want to lose that case as the threat of going to court won’t work again.

  7. Unenforceable OP. I’ve gotten dozens of these, send and email sating it wasn’t you driving. Nothing they can do

  8. That’s a invoice so not legally enforceable, in the bin and forget about it

  9. Reference:

    Date of issue:

    Car registration:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

As the registered keeper of the above-named car, I am writing to formally challenge the above Parking Charge Notice on the basis that I was not driving the vehicle at the time of the parking event.

The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 is not applicable in Northern Ireland. In this jurisdiction it is the driver of the vehicle who is liable for any parking charges, not the registered keeper. As the burden of proof is on the claimant, I would ask you to provide evidence that I was the driver of this vehicle at the time this alleged contravention occurred. If you are unable to provide the information/documentation requested, I would respectfully request that you rescind this Parking Charge Notice and desist from any recovery action against via debt recovery agency.

I look forward to receiving notification within 35 days that the Parking Charge Notice has been cancelled, and confirmation that you desist from any further debt recovery action.

    Yours faithfully
