Responded to exclude names of people from there Snapchats….
Car pulling out clips the car then he gets spun into a lamppost.

What can be done to stop this? Make a registered dragstrip where people take a course, have a safety system.with marshals, no drink or drug driving… and people can race eachother in a safe enviorment and those strips don’t cost alot… but that’s my take.. I’ve no interest in drag racing.. but if people are give em the option let em sign waivers and do it behind concrete barriers…

I’ve been here before bored one Friday night, and it’s sloppy… sketchy, and there’s alot.of young kids there.. I mean five+

  1. I wouldn’t be opposed to just building a couple drag strips somewhere. No way you’d get planning permission though.

  2. There really is a lack of racetracks in this country. Mondello is the only circuit in the country, while the North has at least 3 that i know of. Not a single drag strip here either. As usual, motorsport gets no funding here, but horse racing and dog racing gets tens of millions.

  3. More race tracks won’t make a difference to these lads unfortunately.

Tracks have tonnes of regulations that you have to follow and tend to be very restrictive on what you can bring and to what events.

None of these cars would pass scrutineering at any current event that I know of and the drivers aren’t about to spend thousands on a race suit, helmet and harness etc. They rather spend the money on crackle maps and stupid fucking dump valves.

  4. >What can be done to stop this?

    Enforce our existing laws.

  5. Building a drag strip would be far too expensive and I’d imagine the public liability insurance would kill it before it even started.

As to what can be done about this? It’s literally young lads being young lads.
Very little, apart from a stronger Garda presence in the areas that they race in.

I used to be part of the so called “boy racer scene” when I was younger.
Now that im Oder and still into cars and motorsport, I go to Mondello track days a couple of times a year.

The lads to do it properly on tracks are not the same as the lads that just want to gowl around in their car on a Friday night.

  6. I know this area well, there’s a traveller site right beside them, surrounded by industrial parks too. Few others not too far from here as well.

  7. That video reminds me of the movie “Momento” when they replay the actions from the furthest events to the earliest and you have to piece together what’s gonna happen next when it’s already happened.

The only difference is Momento was a cinematic masterpiece and this video is fucking gash.

  8. Any racing track needs to be self sufficient financially.

These types of scum are not the ones who will pay what’s needed to do this safely/legally.

To reiterate, just total, total scum.
