  1. Oh gosh, heaven forbid you support your family in important life passages.

  2. And the SF first minister was secretly in attendance too.

    What’s with such bullshit headlines?

  3. It’s a shame he felt they had to go in secret but surely it’s positive if people from Republican backgrounds are joining the police. The political situation there never seems to be smooth sailing but both sides are going to have e to live together whether it’s part of the UK or Ireland so the public services should reflect that.

  4. This is such a strange way for the BBC to phrase the headline? Most people outside of NI aren’t going to know what PSNI stands for so it makes it seem like this is some sort of scandalous event that they shouldn’t be seen at.

The real story is that the threat of violence is still present to the point that people need to hide that their child is part of the PSNI for them and their family’s safety.

Making the isolated, out of context fact that a politician secretly attended a graduation the main focus is just shoddy headline writing.

  5. So Sinn Féin doesn’t like the police, I’m confused. The article barely touches on why this had to be done in secret. I see they’re getting at some kind of threat towards them or their children from the IRA. But what has it got to do with specifically Sinn Féin?
