That’s cause it’s an apple product. They don’t make stuff to last, so that you have to buy again.

Never had that and used these for years. Whenever I see these broken cable posts I wonder what the hell people are doing with these cables. Mine never break.
I believe that longevity of apple’s accessories is so low that buying chinese garbage will last you for longer

I’ve never had that part crack, even on the really old cables. It’s usually the rubber on the cable itself that turns to plastic and cracks off. One of my cables is basically made of heat shrink wrap.
