I live in the civilised area between Germany and lesser Germany, and we won’t blame you if you take back Alsace.
Would actually be good if fr`*`nce didn’t deny our entire identity, even going as far as to remove our region from the admistrative map. Literally no one would have a problem with Elsàss being an autonomous region akin to South Tyrol and having Alsatian and German as official, and also having the possibility to create our own local laws, not just inherit some very old ones from the German empire. But now, still liking fr`*`nce after they’ve basically done everything they can to completely destroy our identity, kinda like literally with all the non French speaking nationalities (bretons, savoyards, gascons, etc), is pretty cringe.
Whether it is as cringe as saying it should return to Germany, idk. But people are acting as if those two are the only options, and there aren’t options of independent states like Luxembourg which are doing alright, or being a part of a state that supports multilingualism, like Switzerland.
Hans should go to a FC Saarbrücken game to hear them sing Ost Frankreich and wave French flags!
