  1. Late Dinar notes had “regular people” on them, to signify that it’s the peoples money. AFAIK people on it were based on actual people, but I’m not sure if it’s known who they were.

  2. Fun Fact! That graphic was made by Dragiša Andrić and my grandma was the inspiration for that illustration! She is an amazing woman. Raised 5 kids by herself, worked as a hotel maid for most of her younger years. She’ll be 80 in July. She’s absolutely sweet as pie. She’s the only one who didn’t look down on me for dating outside of my race, and the only one who didn’t write me off as worthless when I was a self-hating, mad at the world teenager.

On Mother’s Day, I went and cooked dinner for her and my mom while they relaxed. Cleaned up afterward, and put everything in tupperware. When I called to let Grandma know I made it home safe, she told me “When you were 13, I had no idea that you would turn out the way you have. You’re a wonderful granddaughter, and I’m thankful for you.” Those words are the best thing I could ever hear from my family.

Anyway, she was fucking this upcoming graphical artist in Vojvodina during the 70’s before she settled for our grandpa.
