Fun fact : Dogs are Haram in Islam they can’t have their wet nose or saliva touch them or they need to ritually clean themselves. Same goes for anything the dog touches if you intend to use it. To own one for herding is ok but to have a companion dog is a no no.
I give my dogs extra kisses and hugs every time I am reminded of this.
