You should be prepared for war all the time, in todays world there is shortage of many things, but not shortage of idiots.
Presume it’s going to be much sooner.
You want to warn people, but you don’t want panic buying and such.
War against whom exactly?
Your regular reminder that this is the usual story doing the rounds because most NATO countries want to increase defence spending to Cold War levels (to 4% from roughly 2% at the moment) which is a hard sell in a cost of living crisis. It’s a millennia old tactic – scare people, they’ll swallow the increased spending.
Germany has been particularly behind on defence spending, hence being haughty about sending kit to Ukraine. Loath as I am to defend the man, this is why Trump threatened to withdraw from NATO – he was never actually going to do it, he just wasn’t happy that many countries, Germany in particular, weren’t pulling their weight on NATO spending. Like a stopped clock, it was a rare example of him having a good point. Admittedly said with the usual idiotic bluster he can’t seem to stop himself from doing.
Defence industry stocks 📈
Germany will start working on that in 6 years.
Or sooner if western inattention enables a Russian breakthrough in Ukraine.
German 5yr plan
Will also annex Poland and Austria again
Si vis pacem para bellum
war is coming
I can’t be drafted in 4, let’s see how close we get.
We saw two times what happens when germany has a strong military
Should prep for the possibility that ammo will be required to defend eastern European allies during the next 5 years, and still have enough left over for when Russian troops arrive on their border in 5 years from now
The war drums beating is the global economy in such a bad shape that we need war to fix it?
Clicked and confirmed my guess that it’s that Russian mofo.
Cool then i should prepare to leave the country in 5 years.
Thing is this is a general wakeup call that needs to be taken heed of. Even if it’s not Russia right now, there is going to be major war in the coming decades. Climate change is going to cause severe resource allocation issues. People will be fighting. I think the end of the last century is going to be the best it got for a fair while.
Against? Russia can’t even take Ukraine – so who exactly are they going to attack?
Stupid panic pushing.
Will they start with Poland? That will actually worry me.
Seriously, this is a) fearmongering, b) a desire for a self achieved prophecy or c) a combination of both.
Yes yes of course russia the paper tiger is conquering the whole continent in a few years, just more of the same cancerous nato drill related news articles of generals warning to “bE pRePaReD” (as if that wasn’t their job to begin with), just because they want more funds and personnel.
I’m completely on board with spending more on military in the EU and being overprepped for not just Russia but anyone else to not be able to attack… but I’m completely tired of the same regurgitated fear mongering crap these past few weeks.
What the West fails to understand is that Russia is at war with it presently, in fact since 2014.What will it take for these bumbling idiots to wake up?…
The last time Germany had a 5 year prep period they took over all of Western Europe in 9 months.
One thing Ukraine has shown (again) is that warfare is still incredibly materiel intensive. We need to start stockpiling basic shit like artillery shells, cruise and AA missiles, etc, as well as ensure we can ramp up production to heroic levels in a couple weeks.
The timing of these warnings from European countries is strange for sure, but I don’t exactly understand the premise beyond getting people prepared for quick militarization as deterrence and further aid to Ukraine.
Even a pristine and untouched Russia would face impossible challenges in this type of conflict, nevermind a severely depleted combat effective Russia. I don’t really understand where the logistics and common sense comes into play here that there is basically no way that Russia could attack further into Europe within the next decade.
The Ukraine war itself doesn’t look like it will come to a completion anytime soon. Where is Russia going to get the manpower and mechanical power needed to wage a losing war in Ukraine while simultaneously preparing an army to invade greater Europe?
It doesn’t make sense economically, logistically, demographically nor militarily. They could militarize the entire country tomorrow and still not have anywhere close to the amount of equipment needed in 5 years to wage this kind of war. Putin could have hopes of expanding this war further all he’d like (and I’m sure he does see Moldova as a future target), but the realities of the battlefield itself just don’t seem to lead to any sort of ability to do so.
Plus, Putin is now 70 and even if the worst kind of rumors about his health are all lies, he looks visibly bloated and unhealthy.
The next 20 years are going to see a lot of wars. Everywhere. Might as well accept it and get ready.
NATO countries don’t prepare for war. They just awkwardly look over to the US.
I really wish Europe would take this seriously instead of relying on the US to do world police
The US & RussiA should realize we are creating a unified and militarized Europe
Germany starts realizing the consequences of their own actions: shocking.
Fucking idiots, the lot of them. They caused this entire situation with their massive overreliance on Russian gas that enabled the annexation of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine, and now they’re finally waking up to it having further consequences. But hey, nobody (except every military expert and historian in the world) could have seen an issue with relying on a key enemy of Europe for their core infrastructure, just a little oopsie is all.

Without judging whether he’s right, one should say that the fear-mongering from generals, weapons industry or national security hawks is probably as old as strategic warfare itself and it works because they could be right at any point in time.
So one should pay attention not to lose before anyone started because besides the war or the fear of war itself, the issue is also what kind of person the enemy manages to turn you into.
If Nato faiks to supply Ukraine and it falls, it will signal to Russia and all other adversaries that Nato, while absolutely more powerful, simply will be willing to trade.peace at all cost. This means that nato, even with overwhelming military and economic power, simpky.lacks any will to fight and is willing to surrender piece by piece. That’s like a poker player is holding the dominating willing hand but is so worried about any loss that the other player cans just keep on raising the stack to force the player to fold…..
We can’t have that happen, this whole peace is maintained by the threat of total devastation in thr event of an war, but if one sides is shown to lack the courage to fight, then it’s just a slow and gradual invasion.
When Russia finally rolled into Ukraine Germany found itself less than ready.
The nuclear umbrella didn’t seem to cover them for a conventional war.
Soon after they started increasing military spending.
Let’s prepare for a war that will either end Russia in a week.
Someone wants more money in his department it seems
War hawks at it again
What’s concerning is everyone’s watches are being synced. 5 years is becoming the norm it looks like
If we aren’t serious about coming together as a planet to do everything we can to mitigate the climate crisis and forge a new pan way of doings things than every country should start preparing for war everywhere all the time. Resources has been the name of the game ever since we were single celled organisms. And as our ecosystem starts to change and we go from people not being able to get what they need because of greed and profit to people can’t get what they need because we can’t produce like we used to shit is going to get bloody and wild all the time. And it will all start sooner than later.
“Here, if you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake, and I have a straw. There it is, it’s a straw, you see? Watch it. Now my straw reaches across the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I… drink… your… milkshake. I drink it up!” -There Will Be Blood
If you want peace, prepare for war
It’s not a warlike nation, but a soldierly one
As soon as we find the proper form to fill out to apply for preparation permission we will apply for permission to fill out this form.
Generals gathered in their masses..
Which century is this?
Or… Hear me out .. give Ukraine the missiles that can drop the Kerch Bridge
At this point, statements such as these have gone beyond just riling up support among population for increased military spending. I think there’s a sufficiently reliable intel indicating that Russia will invade a NATO member, probably either Lithuania or Estonia, before 2030.
