The national vote will pass but if anything changes is another question. In 2014 the initiative „gegen Masseneinwanderung“ (against mass immigration) was accepted by public vote but it didn’t have the effect the committee had hoped for.

I can’t vote but I agree even if it applies to myself. One point: does this potential “law” block also the asylum seekers especially the portion in oerlikon that is growing like mushroom?
Short of euthanizing boomers, nothing really can be done to restrict the population I’m afraid.

People sometimes say “why would I get the nationality? I’ve been 20 years as C permit, I can’t vote and that’s all”… well… that might not be all…
while I’m in general a big fan of “I specifically desire to choose ideology ahead of pragmatism” type politics, I’m an enourmous fan of “actively make things worse for what we claim we want to preserve”.
I look forward to SVPs plans for how to navigate the looming top-heavy aged population whilst we head towards an increasingly young-person unfriendly economy, and saying that the arrival of workers who didn’t use swiss education and need little in terms of swiss social care is a bad idea…. I mean… I recognise that SVPs plans are not to make anything in Switzerland better, but for my entertainment, I love watching the circles they run in.
Praying for the day they surpass “do you want cold showers?” levels of clownery.
