Hello,
My partner and I are traveling to Norway this summer and are using Fjord Tours to help us outline various itineraries. A lot of things online say the [Norway in a Nuthsell](https://www.norwaynutshell.com/original-tour/) tour is sufficient for first time visitors, but we’re wondering if its worth trying to do one of the longer itineraries that add on Lysefjord, Geirangerfjord, or something else.
We are planning to spend about a week total in Norway including wanting time in Oslo and Bergen before proceeding to Stockholm.
A related thought – some of the tours require roundtrip from Oslo or Bergen. Will this feel like too much versus just going Bergen – Oslo one way?
Thanks very much for taking the time to help us out!

People live here their whole life. Hiking in the weekends and using holidays to travel to different regions in Norway. If you only have a week my personal preference is that less is more. Its nice to avoid feeling rushed. Also, its nice to not have 5 days of hiking if the weather isn’t great. You can allways tack on more or come back to do what you felt you didnt get to do the first time.
If you want to go to the Lysefjord, note that it is not close to Bergen at all. It’s outside Stavanger.
You can fly to Stavanger, do some fjord sightseeing tours (Pulpit rock, Kjerag, Flørli etc), then drive or take the boat to Bergen. Then take the regular train onwards from Bergen to Oslo, which i’ve heard is very beautiful.
The drive from Stavanger to Bergen is wonderful through the Hardangerfjord. Otherwise the boat between Stavanger and Bergen is cheap.
You can do Norway in a Nutshell in a day! (One way) so I would reccomend adding something else of interest on your journey! Bergen is worth it and Oslo is ok for a day or two but Norway’s countryside/landscapes/fjords is where the country truly stands out!
