We, the Dutch, used to own 445 Leopard 2 tanks. So basically every town had it’s own one. Now we are *leasing* them from our German neighbors. Yep, that right: we lease our 18 tanks.
Tanks are becoming obsolete anyway. They’re nowhere near as important as they once where.
With military hardware like this you have to assume that at least 2/3 are being maintained/repaired. So out of 200 tanks we probably have about 60 ready to fight…..
We have like 2 working, and a million rusting here and there.

Anyway: the more interesting number would be “per square kilometer” (or at least “per border kilometer”).
Some recent surveys of Spanish and German tanks showed Russian levels of service readiness.
