  1. That’s what it is! I could never pin it down what disturbed me so much about older public buildings throughout Europe, now I know: It’s “visual smog”.

  2. I like the old look better, not to mention that it seems far more functional…

  3. Wow, this looks way better imo. So easy on the eyes.

  4. It’s a very nice conservation but what happened with the seats?

  5. Almost as beige as an influencer’s home on Instagram

  6. While I appreciate the improvements in the new version, I find it somewhat lacking in warmth and character. While the previous version had its challenges (particularly the dark red area and blue seats, which contributed to clutter), it offered a more inviting and comfortable atmosphere. In contrast, the new version feels clinical and generic, blending in with countless modernized buildings and losing its unique personality.

  7. “if we remove functionality from the space, we can have less visual clutter “
Like I imagine seats, storage and a shop were just move somewhere else and create more visual clutter there now lol

  8. Too beige imo. Surely it could’ve been decluttered from the notice boards et al without making the building feel like a hospital….

  9. The top picture looks like the train station in Half Life 2. 🫤

  10. Reminds me of Helsinki airport T2 area being very visually pleasing with a small grove in the middle of the terminal, but there was a very small number of chairs or sitting place that are blended in the scenery. The result is that a lot of people either had to stand or sit on the ground very uncomfortably. The gates area after security screening had a lot of chair though.

  11. This is horrible, it looks like a mall. The old one looks like a quaint old train station and has plenty of seats. The things that a train station should have lots of.

  12. I like the design of a new one, but honestly if they used that yellowish and / or green colour from before it would be way nicer.

  13. Make this a continental policy please 🙏🏼

    Looks great.

  14. Love the words “visual smog”. Could apply it to that new cruise ship from Royal Caribbean the Icon of the Seas.

  15. Damn, what magnificent station. I instantly recognised the ugly top picture, been there a few years ago and it was so lifeless and boring. The new station really looks museum like

  16. I love this trend of turning every public building into a hospital lobby in the name of Instagram visuals

  17. For some reason I find both versions ugly, just in a different way.

  18. ….What is visual smog, which one is the before/after, and what was the problem? O.o

Both of them seem fine to me.

  19. The seats being moved was a bit obvious, but there are less blatant changes that change the place completely:

    – wall colours: from a kitch mixture of yellow, green and red to a bright, but kinda bland beige/white; together with moving stuff from the middle to the sides it visually expands the space, and lights it up

    – wall declutter: it was just a mess, between the slogan, tiny-ass clock and the frames on walls; again, just leaving one ad board and these electronic tables makes it look bigger (though I hope they relocated the paper timesheets somewhere, they are useful)

    – framing and lens used – yeah the two photos don’t show the same area, even if they look like they do the lower one is from significantly further out
