Now Polish farmers or truck drivers (or just provocateurs) do not just block the Polish-Ukrainian border but open the Ukrainian trucks with grain and let the grain pour out on the road. That’s really bad idea. Saying this as a Ukrainian living close to the frontline

1. We, who left in Ukraine, work way too hard to make living and feed our families. Especially those who live close to the frontline. Now we see this…
   I live in a rural area and see how our farmers threat their lives by going to a field where they can die from a mine laying underground or under a artillery attack
   But they need to feed their families somehow.

   Not all Ukrainians went to Europe and other countries, most of us decided to stay in our country where we were born.

   PS: Mods, please, don’t remove the post. It’s not a provocative post, but the one with the hope that someone related to the Polish govt pays attention to this vital isdue at the Polish -Ukrainian border.

2. It’s one thing to block transit. It’s another thing to destroy foodstuffs. It’s a third thing to be paid to do the first two things.

    Government is far too lenient on these right wingers (a lot of the protesting farmers in Germany had really dubious flags and slogans attached to their tractors). Why isn’t Polish government putting a stop to this? Now with Tusk in office that should be easily sorted out.

20. That grain was supposed to go mostly to the African markets, polish farmers can’t sell their grain because silos and selling points are full of the cheap grain imported from ukraine. As far as Ukrainian farmer has a family to feed, the polish one does too. Polish government was trying to block the grain, and allow only for transit, yet the market still got flooded with UA grains.

    Some polish farmers managed to build additional silos for storage and waited for the possibility to sell the grain, many didn’t have the money/space or didn’t because of many other reasons, their grain just rot.

    We have February now, there were no harvests in months, our farmers silos are full and they want to sell to get money for new season, yet we have trucks coming throught the border with cheaper grains that will be happily accepted at the selling points because you can get higher profit if you buy low…

    I’m all for the freedom of Ukraine, yet this flooding of the market makes a lot of polish people angry and farmers which can loose everything due to the fact that they can’t sell their goods get desperate.

    None of this things should happen and both governments are to blame for that incompetence, if we want to transit that grain it should be collected at point in UA and send via train to the ports to go on the ships to africa, just as it used to.

    To simplify this situation imagine you build in your hometown 2x the numbers of ships it has and send half the population of of the town, too many shops and too little people to consume enough for those shops to sustain itself, and also that 1/2 send out of town can’t buy anything…
