  1. Give us back the hostages or we will weed you out better then a gardener~IDF.

Suddenly, Hamas have no bargaining chips

  2. HAMAS probably read that as “We have two weeks to position our remaining forces in the highest density of civilians that we can find.”

  3. So Sinwar is afk which probably means buried in his tunnels surrounded by hostages.

  4. Had Israel established any filtration system to allow Gazans out of the invasion zone to a refugee camp within the cleared parts of Gaza or along the border region?

  5. How is Israel supposed to get their hostages out of Rafah without entering?

People can’t apply say Rafah is a safe zone for Hamas and then complain the war is taking too long. These are opposed positions

  6. This is how you negotiate with terrorists.

    Clear and simple.

  7. Palestinians should try on their own to get rid of Hamas. Otherwise their fate will be similar.

  8. Honest question: why two weeks? What’s the strategy behind giving them so much time? I would have given them three days.

  9. There are reports that Netanyahu wants this operation wrapped up by the beginning of Ramadan, which will start on 10 or 11 March depending on the sighting of the crescent moon.

Ramadan has the potential for a major surge in violence in the West Bank, as the fasting involved – dawn to dusk with no food or drink – increases the chances of hangry Palestinians rioting, *especially* if Israeli ministers do something provocative at al-Aqsa. The Israeli police can get pretty heavy-handed in their response.

They’ll also want the Easter pilgrim trade at the end of the month – Christmas’ effective cancellation dented the economy still further as being at war isn’t generally good for your economy.

  10. Hostages have had negative value since Oct 8th. The world sees hamas as buffoons and their story as unforgivable .

  11. Israel just rejected a ceasefire offer that was essentially a trade of the hostages for an end to the hostilities.

How are we still pretending this is about the hostages?

  12. The international community needs to demand a Hamas surrender as hard as they’ve been demanding an Israeli ceasefire and withdrawal

  13. Egypt sending this message is super interesting to me. Is it not Egypt basically ceding their objection to the war in Gaza?

  14. Just surrender at this point. Hamas and Gaza have lost so much, what else do they have to lose? Their dignity?

Hamas threw that away on October 7. I don’t like bibi, but I’m getting real tired of the international community not pressuring Hamas to surrender
