The Scottish marine species in decline

  1. Dozens of Scotland’s marine and coastal species are critically endangered or in rapid decline due to industrial fishing, climate change, pollution and other pressures, The Ferret has found.

  2. The best thing you can do for animals is to stop eating them.

  3. We need to do so much more. Marine species levels have never been more critical.

First steps would be to reform inshore fisheries, including 3 mile limits and incentivise low impact fishers.

  4. Need to bring back the three mile limit and give fish and other wildlife a chance to escape the mega boats raping the seas.

  5. It’s not just Scotland where shags are declining. Sadly happening in my house as well.
