A large Russian cargo plane took a lengthy, unexpected, and unexplained route over central and southern Finland on Saturday night, passing over Finland’s Air Force headquarters and a military intelligence unit.

  1. This is a commercial cargo plane for AirBridgeCargo. They are the main partners of DHL, Parcelforce etc and do most of the international air cargo services. Am surprised someone actually wrote an article about this. Sometimes commercial planes get diverted through different routes by ATC when there’s bad weather with high turbulance.

The cargo plane didn’t just take off and decide to go through Finnish airspace randomly, this would usually be filed if there’s expected bad weather and once it enters Finnish airspace, their ATC will guide it through the air corridor. The authors would like you to believe the plane just flew a random route and took a detour of a military intelligence unit, that’s not the case.

  2. No rule they won’t break, no lie they won’t tell

ALL to keep Vladimir Putin powerful, rich, and with plenty of young girlfriends… or little boys, depending on who you ask

  3. You generally don’t get escorted by fighters if you “detour” is confirmed by ATC. That plus same timeframe with Gotland ships and NPP drones (which couldn’t have been civilian models due to weather that day and flight time) really doesn’t make good argument for innocence.

  4. Are we just accepting any “Russia bad” bs blog post these days? Russia has enough legitimate breaches of ethics and international agreements that we can ignore these low hanging fruit, unsubstantiated, click baits.

  5. One country left in Europe still able to stand up and do the right thing. The rest of Europe afraid to look up from their shoes incase Germany and Russia sees them peeking.

  6. First unidentified military drones flying over Sweden’s nuclear plants, then a Russian “cargo” plane flying over sensitive Finnish military targets. Troop/Tank landing ship numbers increasing in Baltic Sea and Russia pulling staff out of Kiev embassy….

  7. If Russia wasn’t so dangerous they’d just be incredibly annoying, like a mosquito constantly buzzing around your ear.

  8. are they actually retarded? i cant even tell anymore if the level of jurnalism nowdays devolves into this

    >According to military and security experts interviewed by Yle, the reason for the flight’s detour may have been either a protest by Russia or an intelligence-gathering mission as political tensions in the Baltic region continue to escalate.

i mean how difficult is to see a simple map? https://www.netweather.tv/charts-and-data/global-jetstream#2022/01/15/0000Z/jetstream/surface/level/overlay=jetstream/orthographic=-6.72,57.59,712

many flights this morning took unusal paths in northen europe because you dont get every day a 200knot tailwind jetstream to propel you to near supersonic speeds without consuming much fuel

  9. According to the Air Force, the civilian cargo plane that flew over the whole southern Finland on Saturday traveled according to an approved flight plan. The flight plan had been approved by the civil aviation authorities in Finland. The Air Force says the flight plans for all civilian aircraft are also known to the military. They didn’t comment the bizarre route and the coincidence that it passed through quite important places. Just mentioned that they send hornets if they think something is not quite right.
