This is a lie yes? Omicron can get around vaccine protection better than the Delta variant. The real reason is the close contact isolation period is fucking up large swathes of the economy?
“there are almost a thousand people in hospital and one doesn’t go into hospital unless you are sick, so we do understand this is a very dangerous virus”.
This has to be the most disingenuous takes of the numbers.
There aren’t 1000 people in hospital BECAUSE of the virus. They are there WITH it. Far fewer are actually there because of omicron
Also this isn’t vaccine success (yes its working too) but its because omicron just isn’t as deadly and doesn’t reach the lungs. As seen in lab rat studies and the low vaxed Africa countries.
But they have to frame it as vaccine success only.
Bring on the down votes for pointing out the obvious 🙂
“It comes as the 10 millionth dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been administered, according to Mr Donnelly.”
Could just imagine him appearing with balloons and a fancy cupcake to surprise the unwitting recipient.
“How does it feel to be number TEN million??, Smile for the camera!”
If the vaccine are such a success why can’t 2 vaccinated people socialise after 8pm.
So it’s looking like you’ll need a booster to get this exemption, what happens if you only got your second dose 3 months ago?
While they also haven’t addressed the situation parents find themselves in. We’re currently close contacts. Wife and I are boostered so no need to isolate now but the kids aren’t old enough to be vaccinated so have to do 10 days and 2 pcrs but there’s no leave available for that apparently
Wish they’d just be honest and say it’s fingers crossed Omicron will be endemic and they’re giving up on controlling it
This is the thing that infuriates me the most, just say you need the economy back up and running and you don’t give a shite anymore. This double speak feels like a poor North Korean PR trick.
