  1. It’s good that sense has prevailed so +1 there. But it’s a bit concerning that they’ve flip flopped on this over literally a weekend. Wasn’t it only earlier today a shadow minister was backing him?

  2. It’s good to see the right decision has (eventually) been made.

  3. If you’re going to drop candidates for good reasons can you please stop sending ministers out to defend them. Please.

  4. It’s unbelievable that it has taken this long. They’ve suspended MPs for less, yet someone who literally invoked a blood libel and a conspiracy theory against Jews (which I have seen thickos defend on this sub) had their full backing until now.

  5. Labour are going to have a real hard time stamping out antisemitism in its ranks and appeasing muslim voters.

  6. By giving in to a day of pretty mild if accurate pressure, we know this has nothing to with zero tolerance of antisemitism. But a zero tolerance of Keir not being PM.

    Clown show.

  7. Every politician says stupid things, why would he be any different?

  8. Slightly too late IMO but better late than never.

    Common sense has prevailed!

  9. Good on them for doing so, however it does open the door quite nicely for other parties as Labour will appear unstable to some as a result of not backing down earlier.

  10. Yesterday: OMG I can’t believe Labour haven’t pulled support for their candidate. Starmer should take action.

Today: OMG I can’t believe Labour have pulled support for their candidate. Starmer flip flops again.

    The electorate are permanently outraged.

  11. To suggest a corrupt politician might have done something dodgy is a blood libel.

  12. Starmer follows boris’s playbook on do nothing until the public make up their mind first.

  13. Cant lose to Galloway if the candidate isnt labour backed and prevents the rest of the muslim voting base from getting any ideas of jumping ship to green or an indie party.

its nothing more than a face saving exercise. Galloway has done what he has always done that is whip the locals into a frenzy and make a rush for the ballot box using palestine, kashmir and anti muslim bigotry his go to.

disenfranchised muslim voting base is better then a motivated one who can split the vote and let the tories or lib dems slip in and take the seat

  14. The right decision and anyway, Labour can run a candidate in the next general election and it’s highly likely they’ll win in that seat.
