Maybe this is not the right subreddit but I don’t know where to post anywhere else.
He is around 1.5 years old, loving and smart. He is microchipped and vaccinated. If someone needs a carrier, cat litter box , mats for the box, food etc I will provide those for free. I want him to go to a good home for more information if needed message me any time, I live around Canning Town. I don’t want to do this but I have problems with my landlord.

  5. It’s bizarre to me that people think this is a good way to rehome their pets. If they actually are even *their* pets…

    Also bizarre that I’m getting abuse for giving a shit about responsible rehoming, but Reddit will Reddit, I guess. Weirdos.

  6. Please use a reputable cat charity such as Celia Hammond to re-home your cat. You have no idea if random people on Reddit would provide a good home. A reputable charity will vet potential owners and make sure the cat is going to a suitable home.

  7. Try and contact Scratching Post or The Furry Ears if you have no luck elsewhere. They will take him at that age.

  10. If you’re unable to find someone, I recommend London Inner City Kitties (LICK). They’re fantastic.

  11. Aww, so sweet. To be honest I’d recommend a reputable home like Celia Hammond, as you don’t know who is who on Reddit and how he might be looked after. Hope you find somewhere for him. I know how upsetting rehoming a pet is.

  15. He’s beautiful and chunky. Reddit isn’t really the best place for this though. Can you speak with people you know locally and see if they know of any good homes that’d want him? It’s better to have more insight as to where you’re sending him.

  16. Celia Hammond has a Canning Town branch. I got my 2 cats from the Lewisham branch recently.

    Offering out a cat via Reddit is not the way to go imo

  22. Did you know that depending on your tenancy agreement landlords can’t apply a blanket ban on pets and if it says ‘no pets allowed’ on your agreement you might be able to fight it before giving them up?

    They are reputable charities who will get foster care for him and arrange adoptions, they do safety and background checks and he will be very well cared for (I foster cats and had to provide references, dbs checks etc)

    I’d strongly advise not to find someone via reddit, iy would be hard to tell what kind of care they will give him

  28. please don’t give your cat to someone on reddit, it risks him ending up in a cruel unsuitable situation. contact as many rescues as you can – London Inner City Kitties, Catcuddles, Celia Hammond etc for help with rehoming

  29. Celia Hammond and Mayhew are fantastic for rehoming cats and making sure they go to good homes; we got our boy Shakespeare from Mayhew
