Surprise, surprise: the GOP is being disingenuous about impeachment again.

Hill all but admitted that, with the impeachment, Republicans are aiming to make Mayorkas the face of their anti-Biden, anti-immigrant campaign, despite his having not committed impeachable offenses.
We’ve known since 2022 that the GQP was trying to weaponize the impeachment process. They are just so dysfunctional it’s taken them 2 years to make it happen.
He didn’t say anything we haven’t known, no beans spilled.
If the President could simply take Executive action to close the border, why didn’t their God Emperor Trump do it?
The reason they want Biden to use EO is because EOs can be undone, unlike a codified law.

It’s a fact that the Biden admin has not truly lead on immigration reform. A bit too much has been dictated by unelected civilians. But it’s also a fact that Congress has a piece of legislation that would have made a difference and chose to play a game to satisfy a civilian instead of the people.
Yes more can and should be done but an impeachment isn’t the solution when no crime has been committed.
First off… I thought they were against Executive Actions. Secondly, the executive action Trump took to suspend the asylum process during Covid can not longer be used because the courts have ruled the threat posed by Covid no longer exists.

This is the Republican’s most craven act yet. Not one Republican has been able to articulate a justification for this impeachment action. The entire basis of their attempts to remove Mayorkas is that he was appointed by Joe Biden. Not that he violated the Constitution. Not that he engaged in criminal conduct. Not that he brought disrepute to the office he leads. He was appointed by Biden, and he’s doing the job he was hired to do. And that makes the GQP big angry, so they’ve manufactured this bogus impeachment, which already blew up in their faces once.
Every American should be ashamed of the Republican’s behavior, particularly the House Republicans, for they make the rule of law a joke, and weaken our nation with their prioritization of their personal and political interests over the best interests of the country.
Are Republicans ready for tit-for-tat response from Democrats? Or they think no Republican will ever become president?
Why do they still have so much support? That party is just completely embarrassing.

So the complaint is what Biden is not doing. That still doesn’t explain why he’s the one being impeached.

Voters really do not care about this silly drama… Republicans ought to do what they were elected to do… be a voice to make life better for constituents… you know, like Democrats are doing.
It does not matter what they say. Their supporters give zero fucks as long as it can be spun to blame the dems/libs/inmigrants or any other “out” group.

Congress legislates, or should. That is not the responsibility of the President. Congress abdicates responsibility yet again.
Impeaching someone for political decisions you disagree with is an absolutely terrible precedent to set. It’s no surprise that Republicans would double down on it.
So fucking tiring. Not that they do this. I don’t expect anything else from them. So fucking tiring that they still have so much support from so many people. So tiring that humanity in general, and Americans in particular, are so pathetic, that a comically evil party like the Republicans still exist, still have support, and could very easily win either the Senate, keep the house, and/or win the Presidency later this year.
There is no excuse for this. There is no rationale that makes this ok. We have to face facts. People fucking suck. Our society fucking sucks.
