Seems politically motivated – would they have gone after a Tory Lord? I bet no.
For some reason, Boris only wants to prosecute Labour Lords?
He didn’t even succeed? Ouch, he’s not going to do well in jail.
I’m struggling a bit on why they went with this headline, he was found guilty of two charges on two separate individuals, serious sexual assault and the attempted rape.
Like this headline isn’t sensationalism, it’s true, but the full extent is surely more accurate and eye catching.
Either way, I’m glad he has been found guilty, and I hope the sentencing is appropriate
> A former Labour peer has been found guilty of sexual offences against two children **in the 1970s**.
Yet no investigation against the Tory parties only a year ago because the police don’t act on historical accusations.
One rule for the Tories and one for everyone else as ever.
Fucking one sided joke and BS as ever
More of this would be good. Its not like the offences aren’t there to be investigated and charged.
He may be a former _Labour_ peer, ie he resigned from the House of Lords when it became clear that the House would expel him, but he’s still a peer.
Obviously this is really grim, but it’s also good news that someone so connected and powerful could still be found guilty in a court of law.
The evidence is the two alleged victims having a phone call recorded talking about their alleged experiences? Isn’t that hearsay?
How can they possibly convict people of these kinds of crimes from 50 years ago? It’s insane.
