  1. VW was literally a political project of Hitler, and that’s not a secret. It was a project to build affordable cars for the majority of people. That’s still in the name Volkswagen / car of the people.
    This also makes it different from other, older car brands that were forced to support the political demands for the industry. Even when they were forced, they may still have supported it actively for political or economical reasons.

  2. Never forget that it was the British army who saved and rebuilt Volkswagen post WW2 so therefore all Volkswagens are British and therefore British cars are well built and reliable.

  3. They just had an advert in the Super Bowl our distant trans-oceanic cousins seem to like that was set in 1949.

    Why, in late 1945 to 1949, they were seeing their factories preserved by a British officer and then cranked out cars again which became very successful. That’s that for their history in the 1940s.
