Is this meant to be for all countries or just Europe? If it’s for all countries Ukraine is somehow higher than Australia. But if it’s for just Europe, why is the US, Canada, Uzbekistan, Israel, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on the list? Cyprus I’ve also heard is in Asia too.

Israel always surprises me!
They have a good living standard and salaries… and I’ve been in in business with them twice. You would think they have no money at all😅lol. U know…
where’s croatia?
That’s gross indeed
That UK wage is a load of shit. The average wage in the UK is £24000 per annum, £2k per month before tax. So how does this show wages 2.5 times the average?
No way that’s the average in Italy. Maybe the average including what the employer is also paying in taxes.
The net average in Italy is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1700 euros net. Wich should be around 2300 gross.
Gross average monthly wage is defined as:
Gross average monthly wages cover total wages and salaries in cash and in kind, before any tax deduction and before social security contributions. They include wages and salaries, remuneration for time not worked, bonuses and gratuities paid by the employer to the employee.
Portugal 1700? What drugs were these people on?
Switzer is disgusting. Because so many of my friends go there 🙁
Median would be more interesting
Average, not median?
I wonder if this takes into account portuguese salaries being in 14 months.
Is that before taxes?
Doesn’t Luxembourg have a bunch of people who work there but don’t live there, pumping up their per capita gdp numbers?
Some countries are missing here
pointless graph completely inaccurate doesnt reflect truth whatsoever
Yeah right the average in Ireland monthly is 4.6k my hole
Shit data. But you know.
Idk if this means anything because if you get paid 60k a year in Vancouver, Canada you couldn’t afford a 1 bedroom apartment.
Most People in Belgium make 2K a month after races…..
Slovenia would be 1200
Yeah but who wants to live in Switzerland tho
That’s gross.
Average gross salary in Lithuania now is 2018.2 € = 2161.72 $.
That’s a wage you could live with, getting 4K a month.
Nowadays everythings so expensive they really do need to think about raising wages instead of taxes.
This is absolutely wrong.
$4179 is £3316.
Post tax £3316 is about £51000 base yearly.
The average salary in UK is less than £34000 which is £2300 monthly. Even if you factor pretax gross, its only £2800 monthly.
Post £38000 you come under top 30% in the UK.
Hungary leading the list for EU countries from behind, fuck yeah! That’s the Orbán Model!!
And this is gross and not median, meaning that the grotesquely huge wage gap between the upper 10% and everyone else distorts the number in a positive direction, showing the situation as better than it actually is…
2500 is Spain? We wish. What a shitty graph
Great. Now calculate how much that shit drops when you omit the top 10 percent and see how much we’re getting fucked
Now do one after tax, western Europe will shift down quite a bit I think.
Useless statitistics, and unlike the title it basic a stage without any adjusting.
What’s point of posting it?
How about someone do this with net instead of gross wages and median instead of average income and this would actually be useful

Im curious about turkey
If you also adjust it for purchasing power AND amount of hours worked (like [this](https://www.visualcapitalist.com/worlds-richest-countries-across-3-metrics/) source does it) then 7 european countries are outperforming the US with most of the western ones not far behind.

This is not adjusted by living costs (the title is blatantly inaccurate). The [UNECE](https://w3.unece.org/PXWeb2015/pxweb/en/STAT/STAT__20-ME__3-MELF/60_en_MECCWagesY_r.px/?rxid=0806c85a-23f8-4249-a4d0-10980df459d1) states “Wages common currency (US$) estimates: are computed by the UNECE Secretariat using the nominal exchange rates.” Nominal exchange rates are very far from purchasing power parity. For a humorous illustration of why, check out the [Big Mac Index](https://www.economist.com/big-mac-index).
