Where’s I expect the managers to present their case why this is stupid and a waste of time and money, it would be absolutely acceptable to just go in and say “we rest our case”, vote, and He goes right back to work.

I’m torn. On one hand, I want the senate trial to just be a guilty/not guilty vote. On the other, I want a full on circus…let the impeachment managers flail as they try to justify this. Bring in expert witnesses and character witnesses from both sides, see if they can get “Moses” to juggle bowling pins while riding a unicycle, make the O.J. trial look small by comparison, let Ted Lieu sell popcorn at the entrance to the chamber, make the impeachment managers wear oversized shoes and red noses to be recognized.

The guy is 81 years old and has been in politics for 50 years! If something impeachment worthy was there, they would have found it by now. Unlike Trump who anyone with a TV knew was corrupt/dirty going back to the 80s.
The senate should have a full trial with witnesses and use it to destroy the GOP by showing their duplicity.
