NHS nurses being investigated for ‘industrial-scale’ qualifications fraud

  1. For a minute I thought someone had caught on to the fact that all the nurses on a ward will share the answers for the quiz on their e-learning and not bother to actually watch the training.

  2. > Scam involves more than 700 healthcare workers who used proxies to pass test in Nigeria enabling them to work in the UK

    Imagine my shock.

    > Forty-eight of the nurses are already working as nurses in the NHS because the NMC is unable to rescind their admission to its register, which anyone wanting to work as a nurse or midwife in Britain has to be on. It has told them to retake the test to prove their skills are good enough to meet NHS standards but cannot suspend them.

Good luck to anyone in hospital today, hope you don’t get one of the 48 fake nurses currently working!

  3. Hey, as long as they can collapse cardboard and actually stack a laundry cage properly…

  4. Another reason why not training our own people is a terrible idea. We now have medical professionals with potentially dubious qualifications, ethics and standards that we have no oversight over.

  5. I’ve spent years working with the NHS and pharmacies/GP surgeries and I’ve ALWAYS said on the quiet; how is our country absolutely rammed with young medical professionals from Nigeria, Pakistan and India? Where are these people getting qualifications, because they rarely study here?

I think we’re about to see an awful lot of these fraudulent qualifications.

  6. All the money invested in bringing nurses from abroad…. If only money was invested in training and recruiting within the country and making it a career worth the stress through fair wages.

  7. “Cannot suspend them”????????

    They aren’t fucking qualified!!!

  8. Welcome to England! Where you can get a visa if you’re illegal but can’t get a visa if you try the legal route, where you can’t get work unless you forge foreign qualifications and then you can even work for the NHS!

JOKE of a country. Whoever is calling these shots needs to be named because they’re letting the country down and putting peoples lives in danger.

  9. So what about criminal fraud charges?

What about falsely obtained work Visas, surely the Home Office would be interested?

What about any death that occurred under their ‘care’ carrying a manslaughter charge?

  10. This post has been up an hour and nobody has blamed the tories, fucking somebody get to it quick!

  11. Tip of the iceberg. If you know a nurse or healthcare worker at a hospital ask them how they feel about some of these workers. Frightening

  12. Wow what a shock. Shoddy checks to facilitate mass migration. How many nurses were threatened with their jobs if didn’t take the jibby jab and then the governement suddenly (sure) changed their mind at the last second. Worse exercise in coercision no one talks about. That lowered the numbers and how many visas handed out and diversity quotas prioritised over the right person for the job.

  13. But the NHS will collapse without all these ~~fake~~ nurses!

  14. Lol looking round the mental health wards (not everyone) it’s not a surprise, there are bad apples. They will literally steal from your lockers then gaslight you when you call them out on it when you’re most vulnarable. And drug you out of your brains for doing so. Definition of scum.

  15. I’ve been saying this for ages that nobody checks these people’s qualifications properly before they come here. Well here is the proof and I doubt very much it is limited to Nigerian nurses.

  16. I’m from the UK I did a 3 month course ran by Nigerians to work in the consultancy and tech industry, had to lie in my CV and fake experience. Now I’m making over a 100k. I believe fake it till you make it really works, but yeah faking till you make it in healthcare industry is very dangerous

  17. The tories have caused a mass staff shortage in the nhs. Poor levels off new trained staff while experienced staff leave in high numbers, from over work and more pay.
To avoid a ward closures from unsave staffing levels and a complete callapse of the nhs. They started getting foreign workers in. And like all tory bandaid solutions this policy was poorly thought out and rife with corruption.
One thing that isn’t mentioned alot is that even when they get good foreign staff in, those staff aren’t working in the uk for long. By the time they get used to the NHS systems, their visa is up and they have too go home….
How long until we can’t fill the gaps anymore?

  18. You mean defunding nursing as a degree and encouraging nursing immigration has backfired? I am shocked, shocked I say

  19. Wait, are you telling me that nurses aren’t in fact the second coming of Christ and are just normal people… Some shit ones and some not ?! It becomes a dangerous precedent when an entire group of workers are almost immune to critism because they work for “urrrrr NhAyChEsS”

  20. I refuse to believe that Nigerians are in anyway involved in a scam or any kind of deception 😂

  21. I know someone that became a nurse on the back of fake GCSEs and A Levels, that were bought online.

A “friend”, who hasn’t spoken to me since, knew I had a VPN and wanted to use my computer and internet connection to buy his wife the correct exam results to get into nursing. I flatly refused to be any part of it.

His wife is now a nurse, so I guess he did it another way. There is no way she completed GCSEs and A Levels in the time.
