Nice summary of the 2024 presidential race in this article:
>at Bloomberg, Nia-Malika Henderson neatly summarizes the differences between Biden and Trump and what is at stake in the 2024 election: “The choice in November isn’t between two old men. It’s between an unhinged, wannabe dictator and a stable, well-meaning leader who believes in America’s bedrock principals of freedom and democracy.”
It’s not enough. Trumpism needs a massive defeat – massive enough they are too ashamed to poke their heads up in public. Only then will this most current version of American fascism be defeated.
VOTE!!
This only means that Republican voters don’t really bother to turn out when Trump isn’t on the ballot.
Come November, they’d all crawl out of the woodwork to vote for their Lord and Savior.
Trump has absolutely no coattails. Whether he himself wins or not, he’s never done the Republican Party any favors in the House or Senate.
Get shit done
vs
Talk shit
Elect Democrats!
Overperforming Democrats is one of my favorite things.
I really hate that age and mental acuity has become a constant talking point. I agree that those are issues for some but it stops being one of them is an insane, money-hungry asshole and the other is a boring, competent, bureaucrat who actually cares.
from the article
> I am not sure I have seen the Democratic base this motivated for this long in my lifetime. Their string of victories dating back to 2017 is impressive.
> The most important data out there is the actual results of all the elections since November 8, 2016. It’s hard to think of one key election out of hundreds that Democrats lost or didn’t over-perform in. The examples are endless, but for this exercise I’ll focus on my home state of Wisconsin. Since 2017, Democrats and/or the Left have won 14 of 17 statewide elections. This might be the most “battlegroundy” of the battleground states, and Democrats have been winning at an impressive clip up here.
> In the state supreme court race last April to decide which side would control the court, Trump and abortion rights were front and center on the ballot. The liberal justice, Janet Protaciewicz, won that race by a whopping +11 against her Trumpy opponent. Again, this is a deep-purple state. Trust me, that gigantic win sent shockwaves through the Republican Party, because it looks like Trump and abortion rights will be on the top of the ballot again in November.
It’s amazing to me that Trump is able to convince people that he is capable of delivering wins for Republicans, though I guess it shouldn’t be too surprising since they are the party that literally call reality “fake news”.
Maybe the GOP should put Trump’s daughter in charge of all the Republican money. I’m sure that will help them out.
Firmly an independent voter from a previous republican background. Still have many republican friends and while a few have drank the cool aid a good percentage of them are fed up with MAGA and say they will absolutely not vote for any politician who supports MAGA.
since the new age of misinformation came to be that i don´t dare say who gonna win elections. some crazy thing, like orange blobs, can become viral in days and take it all.
but…
but that the far right have taken the right/conservative to a losing streak, that´s a fact. and always with the republicans talking about massive victory bf any vote has been cast, none the less! remember the “red tsunami”?
now is the orange tsunami. talk with a maga and trump´s victory is a done deal for them.
never count the eggs bf the chicken lays it…
“win, win, win” was one of Trump’s slogan back in 2016 along with “tired of winning”, Jokes like these write themselves.
Who’d have thunk it? A loser keeps making them lose
Our choices aren’t ideal, but anyone with a modicum of decency can see why we have to stay politically engaged.
Yes, take the wins, but don’t get complacent. We’re not done yet.
Register, vote, and get other people to register and vote.
And it should continue. All competitive districts should flip to Democrats to keep the crazies out of power.
For republicans hating 50% of America has consequences. The GOP don’t have the demographic numbers anymore to promote outrageous policy. This isn’t 1950.
… and why that’s bad for Biden.
Stephens (Democrat) was the only commentator in the article that provided election statistics to back his opinion; the Democrats will win in November in large part because of abortion.
Democrat Tom Suozzi won NY last night by a solid 8 points, but media headlines were full of dire warnings. “Can Democrats avert disaster in NY? Special election race down to the wire! New York Democrats worried about Tuesday’s special election.”
Suozzi won by 8 points. F the media.
It will all be for naught if we fail to exile MAGA into the dustbin of history this November. VOTE-VOTE-VOTE everbody! Volunteer, donate, organize, etc.
Trump’s own actions and the GOP’s support of him have lost him suburban women voters which is going to make it much, much harder to compete on a national level especially because of their importance in swing states. The Suozzi win yesterday showed that – it wasn’t even close; Suozzi won by 6%.
Now that trump is actively pushing for his daughter to be co-chairperson of the RNC, the corruption is almost complete. He’ll turn the RNC into a money train for him and family, even if they continue to lose on a state and national level and the GOP will continue to eat themselves.
Voting this fall in huge numbers is the only way to send a message that trumpsim and all the anger, vitreol, and hatred that comes with it is dead.
There are Republicans at work that want Haley. They are sick of Trump’s one dimensional platform from the past. This is going to be interesting no matter what but I can tell you for a fact Trump isn’t the best choice to many Republicans. He’s beating the dame dead horse and they are sick of the drama. I just hope it’s enough to make a difference.
No reason to get complacent about it – expect plenty of help from Russia for Trump.
Voters need to step up and vote. If Democrats win, they need to grow some balls and start addressing MAGA and any official that supports MAGA for treason. This plague needs to end.
Didn’t he tell them they’d be tired of winning … smh
Hmmm MSM media has been telling me to vote for Trump because Biden is “too old”
This could definitely be spun into a victory. Record setting. Lol. No administration has ever said this many records in such a short time.
Can any poli sci majors/graduates explain to me what I should be looking at to get an accurate view of who is likely to win in November? The polls are always so close but republicans are doing terribly in these special elections. I know polls tend to skewer older and more conservative because they’re the only ones answering unknown numbers these days, but how much weight should that have? I feel like I’m losing my mind watching the shittiest person in the world run neck and neck with an inherently decent man who has been an extremely effective leader, even though America seems to hate him for reasons I can’t understand. Then I see the GOP failing at governing and in elections, suggesting no one likes them either. What is the best barometer to understand what is really going on?
Can’t wait for the day when the GOP realizes the phone calls have been coming from inside the house all along.
Oh wait, you are noticing that republicans haven’t won Jack shit since 2016? What speed is a clip that is simply running away with every goddamn thing because not all Americans are stupid fucking morons who believe a fucking rapist fraudster pig should be president or, support the assholes that actually do?
And they still will go down with him no matter what
DonTheRapist told them years ago that they would be tired of winning, he just didn’t say that it would take all of 5 minutes for that to happen. Hire a clown, expect a clown show.
Can’t we get a little bit of Karma these days?
Yes, they tend to lose when Trump isn’t on the ballot. Trumpers aren’t politically involved, they simply like Trump.
Converse of that, when he *is* on the ballot, it’s a different story.
You all enjoying all the winning?
Regardless of what these articles say, don’t full yourselves. Go vote in November like your lives depend on it.
Wrong.
Well, I’m glad that the Democrats are “winning”
against Donald Trump and Republicans. However, the “sportsification” of politics in this country has lead to so many of the insane policies and personalities we now have to deal with on a daily basis. I don’t think headlines like this are helping with that.
Because Trump is a fucking loser that people need to stop hitching their horse to!
His supporters will eventually transition to claiming he was a dem plant.

JFC it’s time to bury that dinosaur.
