No accountability when it comes to a certain class of people involved in using tax payers money
I’m sure Dee Forbes will still be claiming that she’s sick.
And sure what else would you expect from Simon Coveney’s brother?
Edit: forgot to mention that Moya appears to get away with quite a lot because of the focus on Dee even though she also has A LOT to answer for.
I don’t get the outrage. Every gig, show, movie, TV series and musical comes with certain risks. Some work and others don’t. If we lambast RTE for taking risks the main people this will hurt is those involved in production and creating shows like this.
Personally I thought it was a great idea and would be successful.
Dee Forbes (rightly) catches a lot of shit, but the former chair (up to November 2022) Moya Doherty deserves plenty as well. In her general demeanour and at her last oireachtas committee appearances she comes across as arrogant, entitled, and generally in it for the kudos and the hob nobbing moreso than having made any real effort to be an effective chair. See, for example, the fact that the key remuneration committee of the board barely met during her tenure. She attended three meetings in 2017 but didn’t bother again till 2021, and the rate of meetings reduced to one a year in 2018 and 2019, none in 2020 and one again in 2021 which she bothered to attend. She wasn’t missing any time there was a star studded RTÉ event to flaunt her designer glasses at.
Now she’s releasing statements and shying away from oireachtas committee meetings “for personal and family reasons” as they get into the meat of more of her failures as chair.
Yer one Moya looks like a baddie from a movie.
What is it with Irish woman in the arts sector wearing Willy wonka fucking glasses 🤓
Party on Wayne.
I’ve left Ireland a decade now, so this is clearly not my place to comment on the issue.
But that headline, when read in isolation, is the most hilariously parochial Irish headline I’ve read in quite some time.
Spiderman is going to have quite the fight on his hands with these three.
Is that Dr Octopus? Welcome to Ireland, the land of zero accountability until thirty years later.
If the Oireachtas committee can’t generate a shout of ‘They’re behind you!’ when someone asks about the whereabouts of these three I’ll be very disappointed.
Hit them in the pocket by taking their pensions.
Ban them from any public sector employment ever again.
You can’t be an executive trouserering millions from the public purse and refuse to be accountable to the public’s representative forum on the grounds you’d feel a little bit sad if someone gave out to you.
“But we’ll accept it anyway because wtf can we actually do about it?”
Moya Doherty one of the biggest cunts going
Not sure why Garth From Wayne’s world is in this lineup.
Wonder will the same lack of consequences benefit anyone who doesn’t show up to court after refusing to pay the tv licence?
RTE execs had a great oul time behind closed doors. They are putting the nails in the coffin all by themselves.
“Sure it’s not like it’s our money, ha ha ha!!”
“Sure it’s not like it’s our money, ha ha ha!!”
Drag them from their homes at gunpoint and force them to face up to the consequences of their actions. Then, make them pay back every cent of taxpayer’s money wasted under their watch.
I think they were respectful if someone says they are unwell or sick and can’t attend. Fair enough. You give them the benefit of the doubt.
At this stage you’d want to be terminally ill to avoid facing up to the music. It’s been months now, you can’t keep saying you’d love to attend but you’re stressed. In reality they won’t face prison (I think) but at least own up to the mess and your mistakes. Avoiding any accountability is beyond a joke now.
She should catch another case for wearing them fucking glasses 😂
