I live in an apartment that has central ventilation. These ducts pump in air, and I notice dust rings around these every few weeks that I clean. I think these are the only source for fine dust being deposited on furniture, because windows are closed most of the time. I wonder if there are any air filters on the market I can install here to solve this?

You can buy normal dust filters at vacuum cleaner shops. They have a little filter in them apart from the bag. And they are replacable, and you can buy them “large” and cut them to size. I woukd replace them now and then
