I don’t know what’s in your package 📦 that I’m not insured to carry. Use a courier service. Some
Use bikes 🏍️ like gophr. And they have the correct insurance should be using us as mules

  1. Interesting to see the other perspective of this. At my old restaurant job we often used Ubers and bolts to transfer various stock between branches but we only did this in emergencies. The response was usually split – sometimes it was fine and sometimes they’d be annoyed and cancel.

Genuine question – if you’re still getting paid, what makes you feel like a ‘mule’ more than if someone was in the car with the delivery? (We would always have someone waiting at the destination to pick up the items)

  2. There are traditional minicab firms who are happy to do this.

  3. I’ve used Ubers loads for this and they’ve always been fine with it

  4. Tbh the apps should just have an UberCourier service or something, they expanded into food delivery why not courier too. Then a driver has the choice of picking up passengers, delivering food or being a courier.

I’m sure it’s been discussed but hasn’t come about, must be a legal, licensing or insurance thing.

  5. You can just hire someone from gig economy to accompany the package in the Bolt taxi, and then make their own way back.

  6. “Hi there, driver! I need you to deliver this bag of drugs for me please!”

  7. Imo, if it’s in a closed box where you’re not 100% of what’s inside, I understand, but if someone hands you a jacket that you’ve checked is empty/a pair of shoes/some groceries I feel like denying it is just being mean at that point. You’re still getting paid

  8. So long as the driver isn’t carrying the load I don’t see a problem with it.
