If they dont have the item you want it can ordered from any part of the country and delivered to your local and receive a notification when it’s there.
If you take items out from your local library, go away up the country somewhere and finish them you can drop them anywhere you see a library open. You can take items from there too, use their spaces.

I pirate all my books, if I really like them I buy a copy to put on the shelf and for future re-reads.
Loved the library when I did use it though, great places.

Big fan of the library service.
I use it twice a week to study and the Libby and Borrow Box apps are incredible.
Also great community spaces for all sorts of hobbies, events and gatherings.
Fair play to you. Great post. I’m trying to do, less phone, more books. Gonna join my local library, I’ve heard they also let you rent audio books which is great for me as I do a fair bit of driving.
Love the library. I order books for me and my kids all the time. There’s also a section of Ukrainian books for kids and adults. And always events like last Christmas when they screened Muppet Christmas Carol for all the kids.
To add to this, as well as audio books and ebooks, you can also access a huge amount of magazines and Irish/international newspapers through the library’s pressreader app. And you can even borrow video games. Some of them also have large music sections
Also if you have kids libraries are a lifesaver. They have loads of free events for all ages.
They even let you borrow books!

You can also download the app and get ebooks and audio books free too.
This, the library is the single best value for money you can get in the country. Any time you borrow something from the library, the author is paid royalties as if you went and bought the book.
Don’t fucking tell people about Borrowbox!
Here’s another: people leave loads of stuff in their houses and you can just go in and take it.
Yeah they’re savage. Got an email earlier with a list of free events at our local libraries and it was outstanding. Their online and app resources rule too.

Does the library do e books / kindle these days
The library has been a life saver for my grandfather.
He’s 90 years of age and spends the day reading, I’m convinced its been a major part in keeping his mind sharp.
I’ve currently got 3 books and 3 DVDs sitting on my table here from the library. I generally get something out of it about once a week. Excellent resource.
