I am so glad that Scottish taxpayers are funding this rich lifestyle for the Tories and their pals.

  1. They couldn’t hide it any longer.

Timing sucks for Rishi though. Bet he hangs on until the last minute now hoping “something will turn up”.

  2. Well played by the Tories. Crash the economy just ahead of the election so there is no capacity to fix their mess.

  3. Well done the tories, you’ve done a fantastic job of steering the uk these last 14 years. Certainly makes me realise I was wrong to vote Yes in 2014. I’m so glad all those people voted No so we could continue to enjoy all the benefits of being in a strong, stable and above all else, prosperous UK. We are truly blessed.

  4. Cheers all the Brexiteers and hardcore lockdown activists

  5. the UK is a fucking joke mate, take it from someone who lives in a shithole called kirkcaldy.

  6. We’ve been precariously balanced on the rim of the toilet bowl of recession for years. So, hardly surprising we fell in.

  7. While I don’t think economically independence is the solution i do find it crazy we just have this illusion of choice.

All these parties you COULD vote for.

    But realistically

Ur gonna get tories or labour both incompetent and so unbelievably disconnected and unaware of the working class

Ik this wasn’t about independence, just the ‘broad shoulders of union’ bit I thought u meant that.

Brexit hasn’t done anything people who voted thought it’d do, I don’t like Brussels either but it’s hard to choose from shit or shit. The boats haven’t stopped (I get it’s controversial but illegal is illegal) and we definitely aren’t strong or stable

I wish we had more of a battle between a wide array rather than two who prove time n time again they r both shit. Lesser of two evils.

  8. Go the broad shoulders of the UK, I cant wait to be fucked by the next great thing we have to put up with, can I have more austerity please. Fucking dick wanker cunts.

  9. I hate the Tories and I’m glad they’re pretty much finished as a party but the gloating from OP and others here that we’ve entered a recession is pretty disgusting.

It also doesn’t excuse what’s shite job Yousaf is doing either.

Relishing bad news because it justifies your views is pretty disgusting to be honest – most normal people hate the Tories but are rightfully pained when the economic outlook for us all gets worse as it’s going to have consequences on people’s lives that affects their quality of life.

  10. Wow, so over 700k net immigrants in a year and still in recession?

Sounds like we need to pump those numbers up!

  11. The eurozone was [teetering](https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/01/30/economy/europe-dodges-recession-2023/index.html) in and out of economic shrinkage throughout 2023, I don’t know why it’s in vogue to pretend this is a U.K. national problem caused strictly by conservative government.

That’s a lie, I do know, it’s independence advocates pretending that they know for sure that an independent Scotland wouldn’t be effected by the same economic hurdles as the rest of the eurozone.

An Independent Scotland would be wrapped up in a wee tartan bubble unaffected by a global pandemic, international conflicts and trade restrictions.

Does anyone want to buy the forth road bridge?

  12. “Back to square one” seems awfully appetising right now.
