Joe Biden Could Send Millions Of Artillery Shells To Ukraine, For Free, Tomorrow. And It’s Perfectly Legal.

  1. Send them to Germany for ‘storage’ and let the Germans pass them onto Ukraine as surplus to requirements, sorted.

  2. The national interest of the United States demands that Biden do this, even if he takes flak for it domestically.

  3. Ukraine needs them yesterday but Joe Biden is spooked for some reason

  4. 14% failure rate of the submunitions, but… considering how many mines already were scattered? What does it matter, ammo is ammo. After Ukraine wins they can clear out mines/unexploded munitions in peace over time.

  5. There must be a reason this is not happening. Can someone comment to this?

  6. If I’m reading this correctly, this is an idea based on what is sometimes called a “draw down [also spell as one word – drawdown]”.

    More info here: [https://www.state.gov/use-of-presidential-drawdown-authority-for-military-assistance-for-ukraine/](https://www.state.gov/use-of-presidential-drawdown-authority-for-military-assistance-for-ukraine/)

And here (includes a partial list of items that have been exercised): [https://www.state.gov/u-s-security-cooperation-with-ukraine/](https://www.state.gov/u-s-security-cooperation-with-ukraine/)

And probably a bunch of other spots, you guys know what google is

  7. Sadly, this is unlikely to happen. Thechnically, we’re not even “out of funds” for Ukraine-there’s still about 2 billion left. We’re out of appropriated funds to replace that 2 billion if it’s sent. Yet the Administration won’t send the funds and then dare Congress to not refill our reserve stockpiles.

The sad truth is that Ukraine is not Biden’s number one priority, the Middle East is. Isreal, which needs ammo a lot less than Ukraine, is getting these kinds of clever legal workarounds, but Ukraine is not (note, I am saying this as someone who is a hardcore Zionist, but Isreal mostly can supply its own needs). It’s sad and disappointing, and worst of all, Biden’s the best option to help Ukraine. I wish we still had John McCain. He knew how to deal with Russians.

  8. This is all a giant psyop we are sending everything over still this whole time. It’s just to fool Russia into keep the waves coming.

  9. well if Russia has prepositioned nuclear warheads in orbit threatening to wipe out all satellites in orbit Biden probably has to weigh the loss of global coms or save Ukraine. he’s got some rough decisions to supply Ukraine or bend the knee. I’m pretty sure Putin will use them.

  10. I mean I’ve said before, here in America we have a serious problem with all this excess ordnance and equipment. It’s just lying around everywhere and has become a public nuisance. I trip over it all the time.

So we really need to get this litter under control. I say value it all at $0 and send it to Ukraine for free, to help us deal with our hoarding problem.

And do it fast, before I stub my toe on another F-16.

  11. Let’s not be cheap and ask for it for free; I’d be willing to pay 1$ for any “defective” shells, including shipping to Ukraine. Used Bradleys, 100 bucks or so depending on the mileage, if ammo is included and if the fuel tank is full.

Biden would take this to the fiscal conservatives and say: “Look Jack! I’m lowering the deficit and saving us the cost of getting rid of defects/scrap! Win-Win for the Amercian tax-payer!”

And if you are unwilling to sell them to Ukraine, sell them to Poland or Germany who has more money than their defence industry can absorb 🤑

  12. Should have done this when intel first indicated a potential invasion. Anyways, send some to the Baltic too.
