  1. It will soon be three years since Joan Laporta began his mandate. Everyone knew that it was a key mandate to rectify an extremely complicated economic, institutional and sporting situation. We needed to immediately execute a shock plan that would have allowed us to renew Messi and, in the hands of partners with knowledge of the business of sports and entertainment, capitalize the club, reduce losses and have financial oxygen to complement the talent at home with one or two world stars. Retaining Messi could never be a problem; in fact, it was part of the solution.

Unfortunately, we have taken the diametrically opposite path and have further aggravated the dramatic situation that the current Board of Directors inherited.

Economically, in the last three years, we have generated €1,000 M in operating losses, we have sold assets to external partners, some unreliable, of dubious reputation, who do not pay what they owe and who have not contributed any value to the club.

Institutionally, it has been established that conceiving the world of football today as it was twenty years ago is a capital error. Managing Barça with friends and family and from the trenches, without the ability to retain prestigious executives, is unbecoming of the magnitude of the club. And to go hand in hand with R. Madrid and Florentino Pérez in many institutional matters, a surprising fact that no one has yet explained.

Without a plan and without professionalism, everything falters. Also in the social area, where we continue to see how the club is governed behind the backs of the owners. The obligation to encourage the participation of members in the life of the club begins with those who govern. With only telematic assemblies, little transparency, no sensitivity for those who travel or climb Montjuïc and no incentives to facilitate participation, the feeling of resignation has spread among the social mass. And this is very worrying.

Inevitably, this frustration has transcended the offices to finally also affect the sports field, where the results of the men’s first team have generated enormous frustrations this year that are far from the expectations generated. Yes, we all expected Xavi to get more out of the current squad. But the changes in the sports management, signings that were not a priority and poor financial management that has tied us hand and foot, has not helped at all. We will never know how the first team would have performed if the management had been professional and everything had fallen into place.

The only solution to protect the ownership model that makes us a unique club in the world and ensure we can compete in the elite is to refound the club. Change the management model, professionalize the institution, modernize governance and provide us with real and effective external control mechanisms. Despite the current situation, we must be optimistic and excited because Barça’s potential is extraordinary. But it is urgent to turn the page on the regime of 2003: we must stop managing the club as it was done in the 80s of the last century.

From Yes to the Future we have not stopped working to help make this transformation possible. And, from here, we want to appeal to all the existing talent within Barcelona to work together and make possible the alternative that the club needs. If we cannot help whoever is currently in charge of government, it is essential that, when the time comes, this transversal, unifying and unitary alternative is ready. With a solvent plan that has the best in each of the key areas of our club.

Long live Barça and long live Catalonia!

  2. he was the only guy with a plan during the elections and yet everybody jumped on nostalgic train with laporta who was posting bilboards in madrid. Now Ferran Reverter, Alemany, Cruijff, everybody fucking left and we are left with Deco and dead team because they have 0 motivation and spirit and no one has the balls to sack Xavi

  3. He will be terrible. Changing presidents every time will get us nowhere. I’d stick with Laporta

  4. Well he’s not exactly wrong, but i don’t think he’s the solution to the Club’s problems either.

  5. “Managing Barca with friends and family and from the trenches, without the ability to retain prestigious executives”.

    -My biggest issue with Laporta

  6. First he parasitized on the name Xavi and Guardiola, then he tried on the name Pique, but Gerard said to not use his image for Font’s benefit. Everyone can say whatever they want, but Laporta is the best president in the history of Barcelona. He is not perfect, but he is the right person, when the club is under attack from UEFA, Peres and Madrid, Tebas and LaLiga, and outside because of the Negreira case.

  7. I don’t particularly like Font and obv he also has his own agenda but basically all the points he makes here are correct

  8. >The only solution to protect the ownership model that makes us a unique club in the world and ensure we can compete in the elite is to refound the club. Change the management model, professionalize the institution, modernize governance and provide us with real and effective external control mechanisms.

To me, this sounds just like a nice way of saying he wants to transition to private ownership. No, thanks.

  9. Just a reminder that Font’s idea of “fixing” our economic situation was signing the CVC deal. Had he won the elections in 2021, we probably would be a SAD by now.

Pay close attention to this part:

    >**Change the management model**, professionalize the institution, modernize governance and provide us with real and effective **external control mechanisms**.

  10. I’m with Laporta! Doing a lot of bad things too (some pointed by Font), but he’s 100% the only guy who can get us back from the ashes.

  11. >Ohhh look at me, I’m Font! Laporta is soo powerful and bad that he made Xavi play a high line vs R.M. to concede 4, he also made our players miss the most sitters in EUROPE!
That fat man went to the dressing room and injured Balde, Pedri, Frenkie, Gavi, Ferran, Felix and MATS with his weight… Also he lubed up Pena’s gloves!
He chased Messi away! I, myself, Font, would have kept Messi for 500million a year and save the club from economical collapse!
That is not all, he appointed his friends and family! Who are they you ask? We don’t know… but I’m sure he did!

What a load of bullshit, I can’t get over the fact that I was pro Font when he first appeared…

  12. Messi!! Messi!!! We might as well rename the club to Fc Messi while at it. He wasn’t going to play for us forever and if anything, he should’ve been sold way earlier like Papa Perez did with Ronaldo.

  13. Thats crazy but wed be worse off with you than Laporta so stop yapping

  14. We dodged a bullet with this guy and we didn’t even know.

  15. The wolves come howling when the lion is injured. But soon we will rise and these people will rush back to their caves

The letter is just opinions and sounds like more a rant than facts

Maybe he is learning from Reddit on how to create a one sided narrative to influence people

  16. after reading this… I’m sure I’ll vote for Laporta again

  17. I see he play Messi card right from the start 😀 Rat is just trying use situation that we are not in best shape right now.

  18. Font can say what he wants but once you get the actual job things become much more challenging. I fear if Font won the election over Laporta, he would’ve caved in to the demands of Tebas.

  19. TLDR : BS BS BS BS MESSI MESSI MESSI BS BS BS BS RM Perez BS BS BS BS BS BS .

  20. > Institutionally, it has been established that conceiving the world of football today as it was twenty years ago is a capital error. Managing Barça with friends and family and from the trenches, without the ability to retain prestigious executives, is unbecoming of the magnitude of the club

To me, this has been the most frustrating part. Idk what goes on behind the scenes exactly, but Laporta’s team seemed solid at first, but one by one they’ve either left or been replaced for someone in his inner circle.

  21. I thought I was reading a hector fort massage for some reason and I’m like how this boy coming up with all this stuff he just came out of la masia and than I realized it’s victor font lol
