Well this has been widely reported in the German press for a while. The aforementioned article in the nyt about “Germany becoming mean” was written by a German “journalist”, so he purposely chose to leave out this information.
Weird cause I can find no such policy on the bka page and the magazine you are using as a source as having being called reactionary, dogmatic and libertarian (the last by Americans so yeah)
