The government are fully aware of this, they just do not care enough to act. They have the data, they have the reports, they have the ability interpret both and summarise the possible outcomes. Despite how some of them come across, they are more than educated enough to know exactly what they are doing and understand the situation they have created. They will not intervene as it goes against their belief that poverty is self-inflicted and due to a failure of character, not that people can be a victim due to circumstances out of their control.

Haven’t turned the heating on in my flat for 3 years because it’s too expensive to run. I wear layers and have a small radiator to take the chill off. Storage heaters suck.
I still find it fascinating to think that my Dad’s generation grew up before central heating was a thing for most houses.
It was normal to wake up in your room and be able to see your breath indoors.
Of course a lot more people died every winter back then, but we take the pace of technology for granted at times.
This is meant to be a first world country, ladies and gentlemen….
and yet people will still vote tory
90 and early 2000s were the golden years and its over now.
its getting to the point where i wonder why i bother getting up for work. you have fuck all to show for it and soon youl not even have enough food or warmth.
Thats the thing. There is no more money to squeeze. They put rent up because what can you do? You arnt gonna be homeless.
Its an intentional plan to squeeze every penny until theres nothing left. You wont save because the other option is death. Until eventually they squeeze a but too much.
Maybe he should have advised them to buy housing which has some actual thought put into it

Why are people blaming the Tories? Its green energy to blame. They wont allow North Sea Gas development due to “carbon”.
What are the actual numbers on people dying from hunger or cold in this country, out of interest?
