Aberdeen has been fucked ever since the small parochial town woke up to discover oil and gas off the Shore. The City Fathers at the beginning and since then have only been interested in keeping money to themselves. The same as the workers who have benefited for decades with huge wages enabling them to afford shit Stewart Milne houses, shitey cars on higher purchase and to snort shitier coke in Soul(less). All they cared about profit for the now. No one cared about the future and this is why we see Aberdeen in the state it is in despite having some amazing positives. Sir Kid Starver and the Red Tories are just another example of short term thinking. The Windfall Tax, or Oil Fund, is about 50-60 years too late.
I can’t say I’m in favour of calling our politicians traitors. It’s inflammatory, does nothing for discourse and makes compromises or cross party negotiations difficult to the detriment of the voter.
It’s as legitimate as the Daily Mail calling judges Enemies of the People.
Tories fucked over the fishermen and the farmers and now Labour are going to fuck the North Sea.
He was just up in Aberdeen in November- and said he wasn’t going to extend the tax.
Now just three months later, he is not only extending it, but he is increasing it and modifying the scope of it.
Also seems to be no evidence of any consultation on this. Any consultation with “Scottish” Labour or anyone in the industries affected.
Just a little taste of how transparent and respectful he will be once in office and he has real power over you.
Deliberately using the wrong name for people tends to make your arguments easier to ignore. If you have something important to say, don’t degrade it by being childish.
