Senior Hamas official in Lebanon survives Israeli strike, says Palestinian source • FRANCE 24

So we’re looking at an Israeli drawn strike that is outside of the region of Southern Lebanon uh the second since the assassination of of arui earlier in this War uh this air strike north of the city of sidun is more than 50 kilometers away from the Israeli Lebanese border where

The ongoing confrontation and skirmishes uh have been ongoing since October 8th between Hezbollah and Israel what we know for sure is that according to sources that this was a failed assassination attempt Israel was trying to assassinate basil Sal a Hamas military official who is responsible for recruitment for Hamas in the West Bank

Now whether Basel Sal actually resign Ides or is based in Lebanon or he was on some sort of visit is still something that is unknown but we have confirmation from security forces that the person who was targeted in this assassination was bass a Hamas official and he survived

The attack with uh injuries uh among the two people who were dead was one bypasser however that bypasser is isbah operative according to our sources and he is from Southern Lebanon but happens to be living in the same area this is the second time that Israel tries to assassinate to assassinate

Someone within this week only a few days before we saw also a deep air strike uh into Southern Lebanon in the large city of Nati so we are seeing escalations on the rise in the past few days between Israel and hisbah in particular

A senior Hamas official survived an Israeli assassination attempt on Saturday in Lebanon, a Palestinian security source told AFP, with rescuers reporting two civilians killed in the strike south of Beirut. FRANCE 24’s Rawad Taha tells us more from Beirut.
