Is sticking passive aggressive notes on walls (e.g. elevator/cooridor) popular act here ? Such struggle for a beginner in language 🤣

  7. The note says: “Which dumbass keeps opening the windows here? Open yours at home.”

    I mean if there is some problem in your building that is caused by unknown individual and the landlord can’t/won’t do anything about it, then this is pretty much the only action you can take. In this case I’m guessing someone is smoking in the hallway and opens a window to let the smoke out, but he doesn’t close it and the building is loosing heat -> loosing money.

    I have myself posted such message before, it was because my neighbor’s kids were playing extremely loud music (and I really mean extremely, like 90dB) just straigt out the window (they just put the speakers outside the window). Even neighbors from the building next to ours were looking out of the windows like “what in the hell is happening” and shaking their heads. I ringed at the troublemakers, I banged on their door, but to no response (they probably didn’t even hear me). So I left on their door a note that said that I work night shifts and that I need to sleep sometime (which was true at the time) and describing how incredibly loud it was.

    Once their parents came home and obviously read the note I heard some yelling at the kids and then I never had this problem with them again. If it was possible I would deal with it face to face, but sometimes this is all you can do.

  8. Yep, unfortunately some people have communication problems and you can see one here and there. It’s not that common though

  12. Yes. It is normal. My mom does this with me and dad. And it is about opening/closing windows, too.

    A couple weeks after I moved into my previous flat in 2020 there was an exchange of notes on the lift on my floor. Someone from the floor below was complaining about weed smoke. I thought it was me since I was ripping bongs daily but some other guy admitted and apologized (via note) and I didn’t see anything after that (I continued smoking lol)

  19. Yes, very popular. This one is rare in that it doesn’t have a single exclamation mark, usually there’s at least two, with all caps. Not enough chill pills around here I suppose.

  25. Depends, by my observation it is 25% ignorance 25% delusion and 50% justified. People are just selfish and dumb, for no reason. Like, you do not have to make some posters. But to say, in my experience as someone who actually had social life (most folks around had like one visit per year), we constantly had letters about puke and stuff that was done by one mister who could not keep his alcohol level, but you know, young folks (sorry that we had 2 parties per year), just say it was them…it was actually sad, people constantly made some delusional excuses why whey the could not do xxx because of “young us”. Span of 10y, they made those absurd stories why are they disturbed by “something”. You never talk, you never visit us, but make x amount of letters, sms, papers…. 😉

    But yeah, typical czech stuff.
