[Sky Sport] Updated Inter predicted XI to face Salernitana. Simone Inzaghi will most likely only rotate on the fullback positions. Lautaro over Arnautovic. Inzaghi is going all in for the 2nd star.

    Salernitana has a new coach which introduces risk, and looking at our schedule, we have a tough stretch coming up. Lecce, 3 days later Atalanta, Genoa and Bologna (we dropped points against both last time), the second Atletico leg on short rest, then Napoli, again on short rest.

    So I don’t mind trying to maximize points now. I don’t think we have enough of a league lead to start rotating those games regularly. And I’m still not sure if we have the depth (esp up front) to chase the Scudetto AND make a deep UCL run. I think we need a bigger lead to do that.

    I wonder if our plan for Atletico on Tuesday is tire them out early and play for a 30 minute win with our subbed in starters. Obviously this makes the leg in Madrid risky…but the Scudetto is the top goal rn

  2. This is more damning on the squad construction than anything else. Simone does not have a backup striker that he trusts and if something happens to Lautaro or Thuram, he will be in trouble.

    I personally still would have played Arnautovic for the first 60-65 minutes today with Lautaro to play the last 25 or so (or Alexis if they’re up 2-3 goals) but I trust Inzaghi.
