Ah, haha, this guy just went ahead and made his own Captain Tom statue of his own volition. He wasn’t commissioned so no one asked for it and now no one wants it. And he didn’t even make it himself, he got people in Indonesia to do it for him.
Why did he do it? Caught up in covid fever and he does out of honour for what he thought was a great man? Or he saw the rest of us caught up in covid fever and thought we’d make good rubes.
They should melt it down and make pots and pans for us all to bash every time the Tories lose another seat.
Donate it to a museum or just admit your profiteering off of death and others pain.
Old boy just wanted people to feel better during uncertain times, he doesn’t deserve for this to happen to his memory.
I feel like Captain Tom will be a weirdly important part of British history, the same way we watched people clapping pots and pans on they’re door step too swearing at the radio when they hear doctors and nurses are going on strike.
Am I missing something here–so he had the statue commissioned for 60k on Go Fund Me. And is now trying to sell it HIMSELF for nearly 30k?
Wasn’t the point of getting the statue in the first place to buy it and then donate it somewhere to be displayed. Instead this guy had it made with donations and is trying to make a quick 30k.

I really feel someone needs to write a fyre festival documentary on the captain Tom drama. It has been a ride and a half! He became a British treasure and overtime it was chipped away to his legacy becoming a laughing stock.
I saw a comment on this not so long ago where they could use this as a wrecking ball to demolish his daughters spa with. Honestly that wasn’t a bad shout.

He was used by media as a way of deflecting out attention away from all of the shit that was actually going on, along with the whole clapping shit.
Once he had died, he was used by all and sundry as a cash cow. A point proven by his family, this dick with the statue and all of the other blood suckers that are still pedaling books and other merchandise in his name.
