At the end of last season, Ancelotti had a meeting with Florentino Perez where he urgently asked the club for new signings, specifically Harry Kane. Perez refused to sign Kane due to the massive transfer fee, his age (30) and that the club’s strategy was only Mbappe.

  1. We’ll see how this season turns out, and how the Mbappé saga ends, but despite major criticism (no less from this sub), Flo may have known what he was doing this whole damn time. Big credit to Carlo for adapting and innovating Jude’s attacking role too.

  2. Tbf, Kane seems to have taken his trophyless curse to Bayern, so maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing to skip him afterall

  3. The big revelation was Bellingham. Then came Vini adapting to his new role. The midfield dominating. Besides a couple of games, Carlo has done an amazing job with what we have.

    If we get Mbappé, Flo is only 1-2 young D men away from having 10 years of sustained success. That’s because the young people we get aren’t just good, they are already world class at 19,20,21,22. They will get better.

    Imagine, cama and Bellingham didn’t hit their prime yet.

  4. Man, the amount of shit & backlash I received here when I said Kane, RKM, & Osimhen weren’t worth the money and Guirassy & Boniface are just the newcomers.

  7. Paying 100+Million for a 30 year old was just not realistic. This sort of stuff is what got Barcelona to where they are. You simply don’t spend stupid amount of money on a 30 year old who won’t be the future when you can spend all that money to build for the future.

  8. Its very impressive what the club has accomplished these past few years with Carlo and Papa Flo. There have been many signing decisions made that us fans did not fully understand. As fans we forget soccer is also business and we are thriving in the sporting aspect thanks to Carlo and the money aspect thanks to Papa Flo.

  9. Real Madrid isn’t spending that much for a 30 year old, even for a great player like Kane.
